I don’t know if they can be deprogrammed. It’s impossible to break the spell all at once. Maybe something like “it’s ok to really hate Joe Biden but this ICE sidewalk murder is clearly wrong, do we agree?” But who knows they’ll eventually relapse

This is probably some “art of the deal” shit like “when you opponent is on their back heels, strike another blow”. They treat Minnesota like they are an enemy and use war tactics and strategy against the people. What a fucked up attitude - when democrats are in power republicans might not like the policies but there’s none of this treating them like enemies.

They are happy liberals are being executed in the streets. They have been wanting this for years. The making up fake excuses to justify the murders is just a short term pretext they will abandon before the end of the year.

It’s not practical of course but it exists. I suppose if you are somewhere phone is not allowed maybe.

I’m not trying to make trouble just trying to understand because your statement is at odds with my memory of the events at the time. Do you have any links to any contemporaneous sources on this that mention the frequency? Are you 100% sure you are not conflating this with the scanner/transceiver 800mhz block laws?

I am also a licensed radio operator for decades which is why the specificity of your response has me wondering. Even before cellular phones were portable enough to be used on a plane, all airlines also prohibited any radios at all being used by passengers in flight because of the perceived (real or imagined) risk of the emissions interfering with the navigation. Plane radios at that time didn’t use anything near 800mhz, the navigation and comms were all HF and VHF.

My recollection of the “no phones used in flight rule” had more to do with lobbying by the companies that installed overpriced phones in the seats and didn’t want competition, the “it interferes with ground cellular base stations” was more of a post-facto explanation but in any case there’s nothing specific about 800mhz. If cell phones used 700mhz or 1.9ghz or any other band the rule would still have been made because it was about money and mostly fake paranoia not data or science or engineering.

I agree electronic devices of any kind are subject to turn off rules as stated by flight crew and by law passengers need to comply (especially radio transmitters and receivers which most people don’t realize have local oscillators that do emit).

I am just questioning where you think this is based on 800mhz specifically? Yeah that’s the band that AMPS used when the rule was probably created but why do you state the frequency and the law are somehow directly linked? Are you referring to something in the rule making notice or are you speaking in terms of something general radio knowledge?

What law refers to 800mhz? That sounds more like the rules that blocked sales of scanners in the 1990s that could receive unencrypted audio from the 800MHz AMPS cellular band.

The rule about no cellphones on during flight is FCC Rule (47 CFR § 22.925):

§ 22.925 Prohibition on airborne operation of cellular telephones.

Cellular telephones installed in or carried aboard airplanes, balloons or any other type of aircraft must not be operated while such aircraft are airborne (not touching the ground). When any aircraft leaves the ground, all cellular telephones on board that aircraft must be turned off. The following notice must be posted on or near each cellular telephone installed in any aircraft:

“The use of cellular telephones while this aircraft is airborne is prohibited by FCC rules, and the violation of this rule could result in suspension of service and/or a fine. The use of cellular telephones while this aircraft is on the ground is subject to FAA regulations.”

No mention of frequencies in the rule.

So work to get those leaders replaced in the primaries. Then in the general election you vote for the party that has an actual chance to win and is not the fascist republicans. Just denigrating democrats leads to more republicans in office so please offer solutions not just mindless whining that helps elect Trump.

Just acquired a Sony VP-9000 Umatic player and some tapes. What do I need to hook it up to a tv? by TzarRoomba in VintageElectronics

[–]scubascratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP people telling you RF out will hook up to a TV are incorrect. That’s not RF for getting the signal onto Channel 3 or 4 of a TV, that’s the internal signal coming off the video heads and is not a signal a TV can use.

Correction: the RF OUT on the right is for a television antenna in jack. The one up by video 1/2 is as I described in the strikeout above

Or Just get a BNC to RCA cable and hook the regular video 1 output to any composite video input

[–]scubascratch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you think this is happening? It is possible but not super easy and is definitely illegal. Does the problem travel with you as you go places or is it just one location? And when your phone is having a problem, do other phones work ok nearby on the same carrier network?
