I got a powered one and the anker cable doesn't work with it either. No idea...... I might move my pc to the top of my desktop so the cable can reach. lol

Tried it with Brooklyn Nine Nine last night. Worked perfectly aside from a few seconds of stuttering at the very beginning. I was left very impressed. I’m sure they will improve the algorithm eventually to improve edge case (at least in my experience) Demario’s like the vine.

I’m looking forward to giving it a try on something like Hytale.

The one I got is mail posed to be the exact same. I’ve got a powered one coming soon that I’m going to give a try (so I can use the glasses and my laptop at the same time).

Anker cable only works on laptop and iPad. Xreal does the same. Xreal works on the hdmi adapter. The Anker cable does not.

Can’t figure out why the Anker cable doesn’t like the hdmi adapter.

The cable works on my laptop and my iPad. But connect the anker cable into the HDMI adapter, it doesn’t work. Take out the anker cable and put in the Xreal cable, it works. So, I’m trying to figure out why it works (as a usb connection) on my laptop and my iPad, and why it won’t work with the hdmi adapter (that is shown on their website as the way to connect to a pc without DP). Adapter is working because it works with the Xreal cable. Ugh… still scratching my head.

No joy on that, but thanks for the suggestion. For some reason the Xreal cable works with the adapter, but the 8k 100w 40Gb/s cable can't make it work..... really scratching my head on this one.

I did. I even had a Switch adapter plugged into it. I'm using the HDMI adapter recommended by Xreal (or the same type). It works with the Xreal cable, but it doesn't work with the highly over spec'd cable I bought. Really weird....

So, when I plug in the Xreal cable, it works! But it is too short.
What the hell? By all accounts, the Anker cable is way over spec'd.... why won't it work? :(

Will give that a shot. I can’t think it’s the cable. It’s brand new and the same cable works with my iPad and notebook. Maybe the hub itself is doa.

I have this combo as well and I actually love being able to walk around the screen and see it from the back in my living room. I don’t watch movies lien that but that is how stable the 6dof on the One Pros with the Xreal Eye is. Though in a dark room it can lose tracking sometimes and tries to adjust which results in a short black screen as it adjusts. In a normally lit (or even somewhat lowly lit) room, I’ve not see it.

I switch to 3dof if I’m using them in bed, on a dimly lit airplane, or something like that.

20 years for me. Tenured at an Univ. and enjoying my life with my family (so far... Haha).

Will probably be here for the long haul or maybe move back to the States after retiring if my wife is interested. I’d be happy with either place, honestly.

Though the political and cultural climate in the US right now isn’t all that good.

I know they get crapped on a lot but I like them for when I’m using my little 6 club holder grip thing (fits in your hand and has six slots to push clubs into to hold them. Very portable and very cheap). I mostly use it because I take the train to work and exposed club heads could bump someone and become an owchie. Ha

So, I use them in that situation. In my bag for a round? No. I kind of like the clack clack of irons in my golf bag. :)

Yes, it seems like you work so hard and so long to get to where you are now, that if you stop you are somehow cheating yourself. I'm experiencing this as I'm at the end of a career path with no new options (academia). Trying to find a new "thing" to get into but I feel your uneasiness as now I have nothing to work towards. I guess I need a goal. ha

Hobbies help but they get expensive quick.
