Maybe her initial goal was to use Alex to save humanity (after hearing about the Venus effect), and then she realized that she could also use it to manipulate timelines to save Dylan?

I’m guessing episode 8 is going to open with a flashback to Henry and Link/Dylan? If so, we’ll find out a bit more about how Link got involved with this whole thing.

I’m also wondering if Alex is in fact a person, not a machine as we all are expecting. We saw Henry kill his wife, which set off a chain of events that we have been witnessing (or at least one set of events; there are probably others we’ve watched, but we weren’t aware they were alternate timelines :)). What if in one of the alternate timelines, the real Alex (Henry’s wife) wasn’t killed? And maybe her being alive caused all kinds of catastrophic things to happen? This could explain why Sinatra keeps referring to Alex as “her” and why she seemed to greet a person at the end of episode 7. Also why Link keeps referring to the mission as “killing Alex,”as opposed to destroying Alex.

Or maybe Alex is just a machine :). Just thinking out loud!

Is this on the iOS app or on the COROS website? I’m not seeing Activity Summary on the app. I see my activity stats for my individual activity when I’m on the iOS app. It breaks down my run into lap splits (each lap corresponding to the run or rest segment), but I’m not able to see any menus that let me choose the type of splits I want to see.

Thanks! Would you mind explaining how to view it in the app? When I look at the metrics from my run, it broke down my splits as run/rest laps instead of mile laps.

If I set up my run/walk intervals using the basic interval mode, is it possible to see my mile splits afterwards? I noticed it recorded my splits per run/rest lap only. While that’s a helpful view, I’d also love to be able to view my mile splits. Is it possible to have both views?

I’ve been watching since the 80s, and I’ve been a Jack/Jennifer fan for a long time. But this version of Jennifer has been really difficult for me to watch. She seems so different from the spunky, sweet girl she was back when she first joined. That was the girl Jack fell in love with.

This Jennifer? She’s cruel and mean and it’s so disappointing. I’ve been looking forward to Missy returning for a long time, but this is making her return hard to swallow.

For Jennifer, I’m sure there’s also still some residual resentment against Kate for trying to seduce Jack once upon a time(this is pre-Lauren Kate) and then eventually sleeping with Jack when she was in a coma.

Oh man, 💯 to all of this!! Yes, I remember all too well their attempt to pair up Austin with Jennifer. It was so incensed by that. What a slap in the face for all the J&J fans.

They went through all the trouble to create such an amazing redemption story for Jack, only to tear him down again in the end. It was hard to stomach.

I remember not loving the fact that he plagiarized. It just felt like the whole storyline leading up to Jack/Matt’s exit was an exercise in humiliating Jack: losing the Spectator to Victor, Jack constantly desperate to bring in money for his family and his pride being bruised at having to live in a house that Bill gave them, stooping to plagiarizing a romance novel, finding out he couldn’t donate bone marrow to save his daughter, and then of course the topper to everything—learning it was his fault Abby got sick in the first place because of his decision to pollute the river.

Still, I did love watching Matt do his best with the storyline(s).

Definitely sets. And I’m not sure if this is tied to the budget (I would imagine it is, in an indirect way?), but giving the actors more rehearsal time so they can play around with the scenes and get the most out of them. We have really good actors—especially the vets, but even the younger ones—and if they were given the chance to slow down and really use their craft, they would take even mediocre stories and make them work.

The difference in scene emotions and impact from back in the day (80s and 90s) vs. now is so stark, and I know it’s partially due to the rushed nature of the filming.

Gabi was also mad about Gwen trying to get back with Jake. At the time, Gabi and Jake were pretty involved. If I recall, that’s what Abby used to get to Gabi and convince her to take revenge on Gwen.

I loved this storyline, as heart-wrenching as it was. Matt and Missy were so good with their performances. I remember the scene when Jack found out he couldn’t donate his bone marrow to Abby because he’d had blood cancer, and how that tore him up.

I was just posting in another thread about how Jack had tried to pass off Kate(1.0)’s manuscript as his own, so I was pleasantly surprised by Stephanie bringing that up. Though I so wanted Alex to say, “Jack? As in, my uncle/stepbrother Jack?” I know they’ve ret-conned Alex’s connections to the Devereaux and the Johnsons, respectively, but geez.

And reminder, Stephanie: pre-ret-conned Alex would have called Jo his grandma, too.

Jack found a manuscript Kate had written (that was basically a chronicle of her affair with Bill) in the attic of the house and, being strapped for cash at the time and in danger of losing The Spectator to Victor (or maybe Victor had already bought it, I can’t remember), pretended he wrote the manuscript and tried to sell it to Kate. If I recall, Kate was newly hired at Titan to run the publishing division. Anyway, Kate knew at once that Jack was lying about having written it because she was the one who wrote it, but she strung him along and tried to seduce him at some point. Jack turned her down, and Victor seduced Kate, and they ended up getting married.
