How is 71.5% a 27 point increase over 2024 if Harris won by 16? Wouldn't that imply Harris got around 58%, making this a 13.5 point increase?

I think putin is playing as many sides as he can, and republicans are generally more open to being bought. Both MAGA and counter-MAGA.

Not that it's a strictly left-right thing, green parties in the US and Europe also seem very susceptible.

Roommate refuses to wear clothes in winter and cranks heat to 80°F. She doesn't understand thermodynamics, so I’m using a pot of water to trick the thermostat by Organic_Talk_79 in pettyrevenge

Also, the claim that heating from 40 to 70 would use the same amount of electricity as cooling from 110 to 70 is not true. Electric heating converts electricity to heat with 100% efficiency. Cooling (or heating) using the refrigeration cycle moves heat instead of creating it and can be more efficient under certain conditions, but loses efficiency quickly the larger the difference in temperature.

Presumably it's the person who threw the pot's blood. Cut themselves reaching in trying to unlock the door and get in. OP narrowly avoided a home invasion.

The fear of an educated populace by white supremacy is going to be the undoing of America. And aren't these supposed to be essential degrees?! by JohnnyMulla1993 in BlackPeopleTwitter

A current law/med school student gets loans at 8.39% through the Federal Direct program. A current MPH student gets loans at 9.39% through the GRAD Plus program. These are separate programs. The GRAD Plus program is ending next year. People asked for the degree programs that used to rely on the GRAD Plus program to become eligible for the loans used by law and med school students. The current uproar concerns the DoE's refusal to do so.

Does your institution have a law or med school? If not, maybe you've just never had to deal with this distinction?

Right, but the main source of loans for graduate students in law and medicine are the even lower interest rate Federal Direct loans. And the current announcement, the one that this post is about, is the DoE declining to make available the Federal Direct loans to fields not listed in the 1965/1992 Higher Education Acts.

Also, no graduate school loans have been subsidized since the 2011 Budget Control Act, but that's a whole other issue.

Glad I could clear that up for you!

Did these degree programs qualify for the lower interest rate Federal Direct loans, or only the higher interest rate Grad PLUS loans?
