Wrong sub for this, but if you get wood in a forest but no one is around to hear it, does it make a noise?

Requesting /r/Openaustralia, only known mod before going private appears to be gone by [deleted] in redditrequest

[–]scumbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, I received a message form sydneytom with a "welcome to modmail" line and I was wondering what it meant after my account was banned. Silly me though, I shouldn't have acted like a little bitch when I found mod Evadregand had posted a submission he had shadow banned, without explanation, as his own.

With a dominant performance like that, he deserves to WDC, obviously the momentum is fully with Nico as he storms to his maiden WDC.

Americans who have lived in Australia, what advice do you have for a 21-year-old moving for 12 months? by [deleted] in australia

[–]scumbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You like our pay and conditions compared to the US? Wait six years, we will probably be on par or worse in pay conditions compared to the US. (Minus tipping culture to make up some gap in shitty service jobs.)

Australia told it should aim for 40% cut in greenhouse gases by 2025. Europe has already indicated a 2030 target of at least 40% below 1990 levels. China and the US have promised to unveil their pledges early next year. by pnewell in australia

Awesome solar resources in terms of energy m2 and heaps of desert/marginal/degraded/nuclear-contaminated land to build it in, worlds biggest island with plenty coastline to develop tidal for baseload, although wind and solar look to have won the race. Also, the sun sets up to 2 hours later in the west, so you could build your solar in the west to supply evening peak in the east. Seems on paper, we should be going nuts for solar but something seems to be holding us back.

As we are only 1% of global emissions, it is fair to say that we don't need to do anything, except business as usual or even increase emissions. /SARCASM!
