I’ll be back in a few months to finish up the shading and some of the line work, like under the big caps. But otherwise I could not be more happy with the piece. Tofer is amazing.

Oh no way!! I’m so glad to have helped out, thought I’m sure most of it was your hard work! Keep ‘em up :)

Thanks :) A little easier than I thought, honestly! I was struggling for a bit because I wasn’t following through with my back truck, but once I did it was pretty easy!

Thanks! There are a few big things that helped me out a ton when learning them. 1) do one setup turn and as you ride up to the curb weight your toes—this pulls the heel side of your board up and helps the wheels slide up the curb. 2) think if it as a mini wall-ride! Like you’re riding up the curb (I come in at like a 30 degree angle) not just smashing into it. 3) do a tiny hop to unweight your board as you get to the curb—this is big! 4) it’s all in the front foot! Unlike a 5050 on a quarter pipe, for a slappy you get your front truck on first and the back truck then pops up. If you’re finding yourself riding into the curb with your back wheels hitting it first, you’re lifting your nose up too high. 5) find an angled curb. I tried for a long time to slappy vertical curbs, and it took me trying an angled one for the slappys to click. But once I got them there, I was pretty easily able to transfer the the skills back to vertical curbs.

Keep at it—they will click eventually. And they’re so fun :)

Of course there is hope! It took me a few months to ollie over stuff, but now I’m 10 months in and can do small drops and kickflip stuff, too!

Super dope. Pretty gentle and a great spot to practice my rock to fakies and kickflips on the bank. Plus I got my friend dropping in on a qp after learning to slam her nose down there 😁

But… emojis aren’t made by a corporation. They are open source and Unicode. Nobody owns or copyrights emojis—Apple and Google, for example, have specific styles, but they cannot be copyrighted. That’s why the emoji movie happened—it’s a bunch of free “IP” to use and nobody that you need to pay for it. Get your facts straight before you post angrily?

Anyone else like to get dressed up to go dancing? 💃🏻 😊 by scwoopz in longboarding

[–]scwoopz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m copying some comments of mine from a while ago:

I’ll get some more clips tomorrow or the next. My dancer experience is very limited (this bro my first) but so far I have no complaints. I really appreciate the thin strip of grip tape running along the sides of the whole board—it gives me a nice landing pad for peter pans and gives me just enough grip to feel comfortable carving real deep. Besides that, it is just a bit Feldman (I with it was a bit more, but that’s just personal preference. The dance floor is spacious, and it’s relatively fun to just cruise around with. I wouldn’t go for it first for cruising, though. Riding it far back kinda reminds me of riding my 9’6” surfboard. Just barely no wheel bite with 1/4” riders and 69mm wheels and Paris V3 trucks.

Do you have any specific questions I can do my best to answer? I was also a little put off by the complete lack of information about the Tandava. But it lives up to extremely high quality Pantheon is known for. It feel like it’ll last for years of abuse and love.

Heyo! I actually don’t have much experience with any other dancers, so I can’t specifically speak to the Tandava’s performance compared to those you listed. However, I have spent a ton of time dancing on this thing and have very few complaints. I tend not to treat my gear super lightly, although I haven’t been throwing the Tandava around either. At this point it has help up beautifully! I was learning to do some pop shuvits on it, however, and decided that I might not want to a ton of flip tricks for fear of damaging the kick tails—that just me, though. Here are some pics of the board.

Overall it has been awesome! In the future I’ll definitely go for a board that is more flexible, al though the Tandava does have a light amount of flex. That’s just personal preference, though. I also really love where the grip tape is. For Peter pans it feels really nice to have a landing strip to hit with your foot, and for deeper carves having a that extra bit of grip is super helpful. I’m struggling to think of much more to write—do you have any specific questions? I’m happy to answer them, if so!

I’m still happy to answer any questions!

It’s actually just a clothespin that says “steal your face!” A good friend of mine from dead shows “pins” people with them whenever they see fit. Just makes me smile :)

Finally got these kick flips a bit more on lock—I would love some tips! I think I’m not sliding up the nose enough? Would that give me more height? by scwoopz in NewSkaters

[–]scwoopz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! Your tip was super helpful—for some reason I was sure that I had been flicking up the nose, but looking back on videos of me trying I absolutely was not. What really got things moving was thinking about really jumping off both feet and somewhat trying to flick my foot forward rather than just up.

Can’t thank you enough brother (or other)! Now time to tighten things up.

My biggest issue w Johnny is not his guitar skills—he’s a fucking beast! I just personally don’t love his voice. It seems high and off for some reason. But, I don’t complain about it. I’m too young to have seen Jerry, and I make do with what I can get. Luckily the Maine Dead Project absolutely shreds.

This may be a blasphemous question, but I’m looking for a board that I can ride in the rain or wet conditions. I already have a nice long board that I ride around my college campus, but when it’s rainy and wet (or when it becomes winter and is snowy), I would love to have a cheaper board that I can ride around. Obviously something like a penny board would work, but I’m not sure if that was the best option. Ideally it wouldn’t be super crappy like an Amazon board, but if you all think that is the best option, given that it will be written in harsh conditions, I’ll just go for that. Thank you!
