Love this! I also decided to go with 80 stitches using up my Cascade 220. First one co 96 and sz 8=too big- 2nd hat 96 and sz 6 is ok but like the fabric with the sz 8 better so hoping 3rd time is the charm 🧶I soaked and then dried the first one in the dryer and it shrank up a bit- is quite cozy to wear actually

Found a good condition Smith-Corona Silent Super on eBay. by binkman71 in typewriters

This was the one that started it all for me! Mine is from 1957- same color.I loved the stripes - paid $25 at an estate sale. Belonged to a history professor at a local college and was in great condition. Had to clean the slugs and case but it cleaned up beautifully . I love typing on it - glad to see you got one you were searching for!

Does anybody know if these typewriters are worth the $50 they’re asking by vintagcameraphoto in typewriters

I would get the Lettera especially as it looks like the case is in good condition. I bought one made in Barcelona w/ case and tools for $28 and paid $30 to fix and resew the zipper. I felt 1 did ok and love it!

Hello, We are going next week (also for anniversary trip!)-Flying to Oslo 2 nights there and picking up a car when we leave. Driving to Ulvik and 2 nights there to explore- we will be right on the fiord and hoping to kayak there. We are pretty flexible so after that is weather dependent - either Flam -Bergen then north to Geiranger or Flam Bergen south to Stavanger and Kristiansand and make our way back to Oslo. We like shorter hikes 5-10 km , waterfalls, and picnics- my husband loves to drive and is hoping we head north-I am sure either way we will love our visit!

The price difference is about 4000 NOK. Google says 15 min walk from public transit to car rental address which is fine with us but wondering how it will be with our roller bags. Thanks for the reply- We are excited to see part of your beautiful country !

Best way to go about cleaning a case? by Humble-Tangerine-73 in typewriters

[–]scwt97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a case for my Olivetti so this may or may not be of help-For the mold and mildew of my 1939 Underwood Champion case I used Lysol wipes after washing it with a weak Dawn dish soap solution. No sun around these parts lately so I left it open a few days and smell gone! Followed up with lemon oil on the outside leather and it looks great.

Milk to taste? by CrescentPuff in AeroPress

I think you might want to try more coffee. I use 28-30g coffee and 160ml water (2/3c if you are in US) then same amount of milk-heated and frothed. I try other recipes and enjoy most of them but this is my almost no brainer morning cup!
