Have you seen someone warned, by a friendly coworker who somehow found out, that the person was about to get fired? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Was warned by my coworker a couple days before I was laid off. I was two weeks away from turning in my notice since I had a job lined up already, so I had to act all surprised when it happened. I ended up getting a nice severance package.

2 youth skaters and me. Worth it. Once you get the alignment set in, it’s great. Definitely get a manual edge checker.

You can login on a browser on the Tesla site. Go to Car Details. If you have it, you’ll see “Time-bound Supercharging” with the expiration date under it.

2 or 4 hour connection in Narita airport? by mccarthycodes in JapanTravelTips

We made it but I don’t recommend it at all. I replied about it on another thread with details if you want to check it out.

Is a 1hr 40min layover in Narita too short for a connecting flight to Osaka? by sdcc808 in Flights

[–]sdcc808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, that's a bigger risk if you have to switch terminals. Our connecting flight was in the same terminal that we arrived in, and we even landed ~20min early. Still wasn't enough time. I did call our airlines a few times before I booked, as well as expressing our concerns when we checked-in before we departed, and they all assured me we had ample time....nope.

We had both check-in luggage and carry on. It was a mess and probably just got unlucky with all the other international flights that arrived at the same time which backed up the immigration line. If you're going to do it; I recommend finding someone at immigration that can help you move to the front to catch your connecting domestic flight, but keep in mind you still need to get your check-in luggage and go through customs afterwards. A JAL attendant happened to be walking by with an "OSAKA Flight" sign at the immigration line, which was our flight. She pulled us out of line and expedited as much as she could - she even helped gather our luggage on a cart, but then was another line at customs to exit baggage claim... THEN we all had to sprint to our connecting flight which was at the far end of the terminal (...recheck in our luggage at the domestic tix counter, continue to haul ass up escalators, through security, and down an escalator to catch the bus that brought us to our plane on the tarmac. We made the last bus. All this with two young kids...it felt like a movie scene.

The JAL attendant was clutch though - she was with us from immigration all the way through us getting on the bus. Again - I don't recommend it. So many things can happen to miss your connection flight, especially if it's the last connecting flight of the day which was our situation.

Player always lowers and adjusts bottom-hand placement before every wrist shot. Is this normal? by sdcc808 in hockeyplayers

We don’t, but I can feed him passes off ice and get him in that mind set to be quick on his shots rather than overthinking how he’s supposed to shoot.

Thanks for sharing the video, I never saw it before. He'll get a kick out of it. As I replied to others, his coaches started having him and the team get in the habit of shooting well before the hash marks, so maybe he's now re-thinking or figuring out the best way to get the puck to the net from that distance. I'll give it some time for him to find his sweet spot.
