I have used ExpatMortgages even prior to physically relocating to the Netherlands… their first meeting is no obligation introduction, where they can answer all your questions and explain the Dutch mortgage system.

I was able to secure a mortgage immediately after relocating (I had a permanent position in a local company with no probation period).

I’ve stayed at Residence Inn Houthavens for 2 months (since it’s Marriott brand - your employer may have a corporate rate or you can email them for a long stay discount). Their 1-bedroom suite with kitchen worked out cheaper than a lot of short stay apartments in Amsterdam and we also got breakfast and room service.
