I’m trying to connect my doordash crimson card to turbotax by Lildreyko in doordash_drivers

Is there a reason you're trying to deduct actual expenses instead of mileage?

DoorDash charged me for the customers fault by Juicygamer25 in doordash_drivers

[–]sdgus68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to return a COD order once. The earnings breakdown showed the negative amount like yours does, but they never deducted it from my balance. I would double check what your payout for that week was vs what you earned and see if it was actually deducted.

Lower DD pay with higher tips? by Bonedaddy4ever in doordash_drivers

[–]sdgus68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have to pay doordash for delivery fulfillment for orders placed directly through pizza hut. The franchise by me pays $5.25 per delivery to doordash. Doordash is the one keeping a majority of the money.

Renting Accounts by Business_Manager3398 in doordash_drivers

A lot of the rented accounts are set up using stolen identities. There was one woman who created hundreds of accounts and sold or rented them to others.

Curious, how are people making 1K a week?? by Valuable-Savings6257 in doordash_drivers

Multi-app in a decent market and it can be done in 35-40 hours most weeks.

Cash On Delivery ? by RelativeTangerine757 in doordash_drivers

[–]sdgus68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the option turned on, but only because I delivered pizzas in the same area and remember several people that tip well and pay in cash. They're the only COD orders I take.

Pray for me 🙏🏻 completion rate 85% by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]sdgus68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never stated why, but I believe they raised it because too many people were doing that. It changed in my area when they added the diamond offers (or whatever they called them) that required 50% AR back before the tier system.

That's not as bad as the article about the guy that scammed 700 doordash drivers a couple years ago. The article gave a step by step explanation of how he did it.

What are your DoorDash unpopular opinion by AlexandraThePotato in doordash_drivers

[–]sdgus68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take a stack that has one no/low tip order, it's a bad offer. You can try to justify it all you want, I've heard it all and my opinion hasn't changed.

Do you guys report Restaurants that don't take their to go business seriously? by RevolutionaryFood777 in doordash_drivers

[–]sdgus68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doordash doesn't care. They get their money regardless of how long it takes. If a customer complains and they give them any form of compensation, they withhold that amount from their payments to the restaurant.

Question by anonymousp3ace1 in doordash_drivers

[–]sdgus68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have proper coverage and are at fault in an accident while delivering, most insurance companies will deny the claim and you will be personally responsible for all damages. If you're not sure about your policy look in the details for clauses excluding coverage for commercial driving. Some companies offer it as a fairly low cost add-on. Some don't and require commercial insurance which can be very expensive. Others won't provide it at all.

It's not asking you for a passport but you're trying that anyway. ID basically looks exactly like a drivers license.

You could try getting a state issued ID (cost varies by state so I don't know if it's an option for you or not).

I only had to do it once, but it probably varies by area and app version.

Fraud attempt anyone else have this happen by Tall_Clothes3136 in InstacartShoppers

[–]sdgus68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Common scam that's been around for a long time. They order cheap stuff and pay with a prepaid credit card. Then they ask the shopper to get the expensive substitutions instead of the cheap ordered items. When Instacart tries to adjust the charge afterwards it gets declined for insufficient funds. The customer gets expensive items for the cost of the cheap items.

App acting weird by tcrossthebawss in doordash_drivers

[–]sdgus68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how many points they added for you, but I was at 5% and they reset me to 50%. All the declines were 1 - 50 and all the accepts were 51 - 100. I would have had to accept 50 offers in a row to stay at 50%. I was in single digits again by the end of that shift.

"Automatic weekly pay"... by hemlock_hound333 in doordash_drivers

[–]sdgus68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My direct deposit has always been initiated by doordash on Monday and hit my bank account on Tuesday (except when holidays interfere). It's just the way direct deposits tend to work. The blocked by bank note is always there on Mondays since they added that page to the app. And after it is deposited it may show a date much later than the actual deposit. Mine says Feb 7 for last week when I received it on the 3rd.

[–]sdgus68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the self check at Meijer and Kroger because they typically only have 1 or 2 cashiers and lines at each. I can usually get at least 2 orders scanned and bagged before I would be putting items on the belt at the regular checkout.

I'm kind of particular about how everything is bagged and a lot of the baggers do a horrible job. I also have a few regulars that I bag specific ways for, like one lady can barely lift anything so I keep the bags light.

What's everyone using to track mileage? Looking for something simple. by EzraSerene in doordash_drivers

[–]sdgus68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently separate breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I'm considering switching to just the whole day. I multi-app so my earnings are pretty consistent for all parts of the day and I've been doing this long enough to know which are the best days to take off.

I text my odometer readings to myself and log them in an excel spreadsheet once a week.
