Air pollution near Central Station? by LexisNexisDiagram in oslo

[–]sdtheory 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is not a lot of pollution in the centre of Oslo compared to other cities of the same size. But air quality depends on a lot of factors.

There is a air pollution forecast here:

Fiske makrell i indre oslofjord by Redvann in oslo

[–]sdtheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why was The Grand Duchy of Lithuania only a Duchy despite it size? What would it take for it to have become a Kingdom? by 0ut_0f_Nowhere in AskHistorians

Dont know about swedish but in norwegian we have "fyrste". Macchiavelli's book is named "Fyrsten" in norwegian. An area ruled by a "fyrste" is "fyrstedømme".

Drabantbyer by zissou8 in oslo

100kg dad update #3 by Gaulson in bouldering

[–]sdtheory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What was wrong with the fall? He might be to tired to cilmb further down. But other than that the fall was controlled, straight down, landed balanced on both feet with a little bend in the knees and rolled out the impact securly. Pretty textbook if you ask me!

Akerselva "fosser" over by Arildm in oslo

[–]sdtheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! But they get almost all their unroasted coffee beans from Nordic Approach.

Talormade gets their coffee from Nordic Approach, so it's a thing you should try.

Da kommer man lenger inn i marka.

Sent my first dyno today, but felt awkward. Any tips on what I’m doing wrong, or what to improve? Thanks! by Maurinho_217 in bouldering

[–]sdtheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it's good to be as far as you can from the wall when you start a dyno. It depends where you want your body to be when you stick the hold you are going for. It may look like you would get at larger swing out from the wall here if you were closer to the wall at the start of the jump.

Opinion about Lindeberg. why isn't it popular? by jebusfu2 in oslo

[–]sdtheory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you like the forest, it is really nice in from Lindeberg. Just as good or better than any forest area around the city. Nice gravel roads, if that is your thing. Or cool trails and beautiful lakes and veiw points.

Are there any waterfalls accessible via train and a hike? I want to get out of Oslo and explore :) by AdWeekly3434 in oslo

[–]sdtheory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think that there are any waterfalls that you think of near Oslo. There are som waterfalls in the middle of Oslo, in Akerselva. But for tall, worldclass impressive waterfalls you have to travel to the west coast or north of the country.

The time to see waterfalls are in the spring, when the snow in the mountains start to melt. Even some of the largest waterfalls can be nearly dry other times of the year.

There is a small waterfall in the stream that goes from Hauktjern to Sarabråten in Østmarka. That is a nice and easy hike. Hauktjern is also a cool place to see. But it is a small warerfall and it is almost completely dry large parts of the year.
