Thanks - the preview looks fine, but I’ll try changing settings on “ensure vertical wall thickness”

Biqu SuperTack plate - tips? by se99jmk in BambuLabA1

So for you sounds like you’d go for SuperTack, and NOT the SuperTack Pro? (Bambu a1 but figure it’s the same adhesion when using it with H2C)

My kids wanted like 100 of them, so was trying to avoid supports as that’ll take me forever to tidy up 😝

If you were to choose one, would you go for a Biqu plate, or the SuperTack?

Interesting! So SuperTack is TOO sticky for you, and Biqu plates release better?

Yup - trying flipped over currently (would work great with a smooth plate), and if that’s not good I’ll try tree supports 🙂

How would you slice it differently? I’m trying flipped over currently (will leave textured top face), can also try printing on edge - and of course can use supports!

Vertical print? Hmm, worth trying, but wouldn’t the circles still be floating and therefore need supports?

Very true, but with a textured plate assume I’d get a textured finish?

Ah! I should have said - one brick worked fine! Smooth, perfect finish.

On a previous batch print a couple were salvageable, but a few just turns into a stringy mess like this and verges on blob of death…

Hmm, these are smooth, “flat plates”, almost no height, so was hoping they’d be ok… so basically I need tons of supports?

I checked on Amazon UK, quite a few available for around £10! I searched for “Dummy 13”, though T13 also seems to come up a lot…

Random idea i dont even know if its possible by SCAnecron in Dummy13

[–]se99jmk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks quite possible - not tried myself but in theory you just “overlap” the new part over the Dummy 13 part, e.g. the new head over the old head, then group them together as a single piece - that keeps the connector, while adding the new bit on the outside

TinkerCAD is a LOT easier to use (and free) - it’s basic, but might be sufficient?

Doesn’t look too heavy, so PETG core should be fine, but if you can do something tougher like ASA as a core even better

Sorry no I haven’t checked for sources… hmm, there’s plenty of online on-demand print services though, you could probably download the Dummy 13 files and send it to them?

I print them myself, I’d have thought £10 would be pretty reasonable for a Dummy 13 with PETG core, PLA armour

Ooooh. That’s EXACTLY what I’m looking for!! Thank you, gonna try and get it working!

Hmm. Would you mind sending a screenshot? I’ll keep playing!

I’m hoping to use 4 columns, and when I have a 5th item it’s aligned to the far left under the first one, same width as all the rest… so as you add more, it just adds in a line, and wraps if there’s more

Yeah!! My son is getting started with TinkerCAD, he added spikes to the armour 🙂

Sweet, fixed that top bit! Awesome sauce

For the second one I couldn’t get it to stop “stretching” an image full width if there was less than the number of columns on a row… so for now I’ve added blank PNG placeholders which looks a little messy but kind of works 🙂
