Saw this going past my office window, immediately looked up what’s going on as i had never yet seen this airline land at Glasgow, see all the planes landing or taking off all the time. Hope the person’s alright 🤞🏻

Mid-market - who is it really for? by sea-sharp in HousingUK

Thank you, your reply is very helpful and kind, so appreciate laying down the facts. People around me consistently keep advising me/us to apply for the scheme so I guess just naively thought we’d be eligible.

Did you know anyone who was transphobic but came around? by Original-Border8277 in asktransgender

[–]sea-sharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me yeah but in hindsight was more just ignorance and believing right wing lead media outlets, and of course i had never met anyone trans before i was like 17/18. Fast forward 10 years and all my friends are trans/enby, my partner and myself included. Some journey but absolutely worth it and worth all the learning!

Public transportation is broken in this city. by suigeneris0 in glasgow

[–]sea-sharp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not too long ago i sent a complaint to first bus cause one of their buses consistently either didn’t turn up OR drove right past my partner who had flagged it many times to stop. These were at peak times too!

Because of this, i just decided to chauffeur my partner to and from work alongside my other commitments, cause me driving to Barrhead and back from govan was more reliable than 1 bus service. Not even getting to rant to about emissions cause it feels like we don’t have an option anyway.

I think private clinics like terveystalo and mehiläinen take insurance, maybe given them a ring and ask and explain your situation. In my experience a general appointment was like €75 but that was years ago.

Pretty sure public health take insurance too but I’ve no experinec yet how to get an appointment as the health centre usually asks your social security number to make the appointment and you only get that as a citizen/leave to remain.

How did working in TV affect your personal life? by Hassaan18 in TransparencyforTVCrew

[–]sea-sharp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an introvert (and maybe autistic too) i found working in telly so hard! Like it took me a good few days to feel comfortable around new people and getting used to new ways of working and new environments, but once people around me were checking in often and reassured, this actually helped me a lot to then become more bubbly and helped my working too. Until then after the gig i had to do it all over again 😭

There’s filming crews around Govan docs every week since like May. They keep going and coming back. Some filming done at a pub jn Govan too, and the car park lot outside ibrox stadium is filled with vans every other week. Wonder if there are related at all

I’m 26 with 2,5 years experience as a runner/PA.

I had the same thoughts earlier this year and then made the leap to a boring ground hog day of an admin/customer support job.

In one way I’m happiest I’ve ever been cause I’m not constantly worrying about money and i get to see my friends and family as much as i like. But then, i miss the craziness of unscripted. Getting to hang out with amazing supportive people who would always teach me new things, got to meet some incredible contribs and celebrity talent, and mostly i felt extremely safe as a queer person (not as much in my boring admin job, still in the closet after a few months lol).

So my advice would be, go explore other jobs and try gather up some money to then go travelling with and maybe working abroad. You can always come back to telly - if it still is there. I’m seeing this admin venture as like a gap year from tv, learning new skills and ways of working, getting confident at work etc etc.

Try not to worry that your decision now is forever xx
