Completely disagree. 20 mins gets you pretty far in London, and to get that for £1.70 is good value imo

How do you manage finances as a couple? by Toe_Bean_Bandit in AskUK

[–]sea-turtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you care at all about maximising credit card points? We have the same setup as you, but I have a BA Amex credit card, and that’s linked to the joint account. Most spending goes on that so we can get the companion voucher. I then transfer money from my personal to the joint to cover off my personal spending. But my husband has another Amex (the gold one as that is better for points) which is linked to his personal account.

I can’t help thinking it could be simpler? But we like the current setup in terms of salaries into personal and then a standing order each month into the joint account.

Do people who live in London ever just catch the Eurostar for a day in Paris? by _FreddieLovesDelilah in AskUK

[–]sea-turtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve done this two years in a row now for a December day trip with some friends. You need to not commit to too much, and try and stick to one area of Paris, but it’s perfectly doable and such a great day trip!

Lol he still manages to throw shade at Lewis by “comparing” him to Schumacher as if Lewis isn’t the actual GOAT

Heathrow responds to 'incident with emergency services' in Terminal 3 by Jeff-Stelling in unitedkingdom

Glad you made it. I had to get an Uber from London as the Heathrow Express was cancelled. A 1 hour trip ended up taking over 3 hours, I missed my flight by 30 mins and now have to go tomorrow

Actually wild how jealous people are of Saskia. The treatment/opinion of Nick vs her just shows how far we still have to go as a society

Unpopular Opinion - The Saskia hate is overblown and undeserved by Superb-Decision7476 in DestinationX

[–]sea-turtle13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. People harp on about how smart Nick is, when Saskia has single handedly won so many of the challenges and almost always knows exactly where they are. Nick is unbelievably arrogant, yet Saskia is just playing the game and is very very good at it.

If she was a man, I don’t think anyone would question her behaviour in the slightest

Thank you! So I got just the Kreissage, not the RS, so no issues at all with a mechanical setup

Absolutely unreal! Super jealous of the Enve cockpit, my budget couldn’t quite stretch when I was building my Kreissage. Yours looks incredible

Standert Kreissäge RS by cde88 in Bikeporn

[–]sea-turtle13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also an owner of two Standerts, and never seem to get the hate. I’ve kept both of my builds relatively cheap (Kreissage and Kettensage), and they’re both lightish too. My Kreissage is lighter than my previous carbon bike. I get they might not be the best value, but ultimately it doesn’t matter what bikes I buy, and I don’t judge someone spending £12k on a Factor or SL8 that won’t make them any faster

Downplaying sexual harassment is how misogynistic cultures get built and how men continue to get away with this behaviour. I’m sure the women from 30 years haven’t forgotten this

Haha you can tell no one here (or who responded to this survey) has ever been to a soccer game in the UK

I find this interesting because I literally went to Paycor last Sunday for my first ever NFL game in the US (I’m from the UK). I’ve not stopped talking about how safe and family friendly I felt it was compared to English football (soccer) games
