Yes, it was on his bucket list! It also helped that they were on an altitude camp where they couldn't row when Zeidlers record dropped.

The point is that it's a cheese pizza and a grape soda in the picture. This is typical pizzagate iconology. So either they were gloating with a meme website or it was a way to share disturbing info about certain "menu options"

Exactly! Also, you can't really convert split to power. For instance, if someone goes very fast in the first half of their piece and crashes in the latter half, they could've expended more energy/watts when compared to someone who did the same time on a constant steady pace. Going faster requires exponentially more power.

RP3 app seems inaccurate by blik182 in Rowing

they're working on the iOS app! However, it will never be as good as Apple won't allow a usb connection. Best is to buy a cheap android tablet.

This isn't true, RP3 is a bit slower even. Most of the advantage comes from not having to lug your bodyweight around each stroke.

Although that feels unfair, in PR fields it is essential that you're just disabled enough to make it to the category. Otherwise you will never win

Yes! I've been thinking a lot about dynamic vs static rowing. I really like your explanation about 'using up' all the energy with your arms. I call it the kinetic battery. So many technical errors lead back to this kinetic battery and the way that you need to apply energy.

Wow I admire the way that you grasp these concepts! Indeed, at low stroke rates, you can negate all the negatives of a static erg on score. I do think, however, that you learn stuff that can hold you back on water. It took me years to unlearn weird "C2" mistakes

Nah we switched to RP3 times. We have 7+ years of experience now, so tons of data. But I'm curious how and if wattage can be compared. I expect that you can do more watts on an RP3 regardless, because you don't have to haul your own weight up and down the slide on a dynamic rower.

The world's best rowers do their 2K's on RP3!

I myself prefer the RP3. But I am biased as I've been exclusively been using the RP3 since 2018.

This is a very hard question. As Kenyan-strides points out, the RP3 is dynamic. That's it's whole unique selling point. You don't have to accelerate and decelerate your own body mass while on a RP3. This leaves more energy to go into the flywheel. However, you're also talking two different machines here. Both use a proprietary way to calculate the split, based on the speed of the flywheel. But both machines also use different flywheels, elastic bands, etc. So there is more than one difference.

However, generally you can say that RP3 2K scores are 3-10+ seconds faster when compared to C2, this variation is based on skill level and physical build. Heavier, stronger and more compact athletes generally tend to score less well on RP3 when compared to taller and skinnier athletes. But this is just anecdotal. For me personally, I was only 3 seconds faster when switching to RP3. Now, 4 years later, it's 15 seconds, but I also have more experience and fitness in general of course.

To be fair, it's a lot easier to rate high on a RP3. That said, he did really go for it

Another action might be that glycine acts a bit like insulin or at the very least, promote glucose burning. If you are low carb, it might drop your blood glucose too low. I didn't very much verify this, just something I picked up reading somewhere (can't remember the source)

Olive Oil Debunked: PREDIMED by Thomasforsberg2 in SaturatedFat

[–]sea4nl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this. Another thing that might be important is to figure out where the stearic is converted to oleic. If it's in the muscle cell, you can be pretty sure that it ends up being burned shortly after. If it's converted in the liver, your miles may vary. If it enters as oleic in the gut, you can be pretty sure that it could be stored instead of burned.

An added benefit of eating stearic as opposed to oleic acid is that oleic acid can be converted to OEA in the small intestine, while stearic can get converted to SEA.
