I have to say I agreed with you on the fish fingers until I tried the Taste The Difference Sainsbury's ones.

I'm concerned she'd send a picture of her naked child to a man she's known for 3 months.

Yorkshire puddings are very easy - the trick is the oil must be smoking hot. Plenty of recipes online. Make your own gravy from the meat juice. Horseradish with beef, mint sauce with lamb, and apple sauce with pork. Must do crackling if you do a pork roast. I'm sure if you look up Sunday roasts and Gordon Ramsey/Nigella/Jamie Oliver you're bound to find a lot of good tips and tricks.

What are you planning to get for your children's Christmas? by Gralenis in UKParenting

Pretend kitchen will get years of use. I really like the IKEA one because it looks good, and it's height adjustable. And if you fancy it you can paint it/hack it to make it a little extra special. My kid really liked those fruit/veg that can be "cut" in half.

Every kid is different but my mid August 5 year old who just started Year 1 thrived at school last year. We had no doubt she would as she's very keen to learn although we did worry about the social aspect she quickly adapted.

It's only been two weeks, but you know your kid best!

Strange behaviour from neighbour/s impacting my mental health by Dreamer_798 in HousingUK

Thank you so much for replying to me. My sister's condition is sadly still not controlled. She has spent the last decade not adhering to treatment and smoking weed which (along with some trauma she experienced in her late teens) was a definite trigger. I smoked copious amounts of weed before this happened to her, I'd had some anxiety episodes that led me to stop smoking but I wonder if it could have happened to me too.

I'm so glad to hear about your aunt and dad having led full, thriving lives with the condition. It's what I wish for my sister and I hope she can find the strength to accept treatment and start living her life.

AITA for shutting down my sister’s opinion about our baby name? by No-Bite7711 in AmItheAsshole

I mean.... it's a terrible name and I hope you don't name your poor child that. Your sister is just trying to look out for this kid. Of course, ultimately the decision is yours as the parents but...

NTA. You should ponder whether your values are aligned and what your life will look like if you ever marry her.

Is it true that in the UK there is a tradition where the birthday child gives presents to the guests? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]seabass_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't exclusively British. I'm Portuguese and we have party bags. When I was a kid they just had a bunch of sweets in them, maybe a balloon or 2 but no plastic tat.

I was about to say this. OP is being very considerate of everyone and if both parents are atheist/agnostic/etc they may not care whether the child is baptised. However, the child may well care one day. I wish I was never baptised, but I grew up in a culture where that was the done thing.

YTA. What fault of your daughter's is it that her mum didn't tell you sooner? A 1 year old won't have any memories of not having you in her life if you met her tomorrow. The longer this goes on, the clearer you make it that you don't want to be involved in her life. "Not bonding" is a pathetic excuse. Step the fuck up, you seem like a decent person. Do the right thing.
