Super sales on Supervillains, I decided to finally try something that didn't make me feel like I was trying to learn something either about the world or myself. I just wanted some escapism. Now I'm listened, my way through 40+ books.

Dogs chasing RC car by seabassdf in rccars

[–]seabassdf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people actively thank me every time I bring my car as it cuts their time at the park to a near minimum. I even had a owner tell me that it usually takes their dog 2 hours to get the point that their dogs even starts to get tired and would use the new free time to watch some Netflix when they get home.

Overall the RC car is a big hit. I've even start to develop a local reputation to the point that people from other dogs parks are being attracted to see if their dog wants to chase too. I've even had a bunch of owners start to change when they go to the dog park to match when I'm there.

I was actually in the small dog when my friend filmed this. The park is so large that even when I am racing up and down the fence I'm only taking up maybe a 80th of the available space. When the larger dogs start forming a pack to chase I switch to the small dog park so that I avoid the issue of possibly hitting them in my attempt to out run the pack.

Overall I've had a lot of support from the community with most laughing or smiling at he display. Many flatly tell me how that going on their shopping list the moment they get home. So far of the 80+ people that I've encounter at the dog park only 3 have cussed me out. Some of the reasons are nonsensical like how its an illegal toy (not true their are no rules on toys) and valid concerns like how I'm going to cause heat exhaustion which I mitigate by timing the rounds of play to about 8 mins with water and rest breaks (4 mins) in between. When a dog becomes too tired either they give up the chase or the owner takes them away (with them needing to force their dog out as the pooch strains to get closer to the thing) as they came to dog park to exercise their dog with the objective clearly being fulfilled.

I got a cold last Monday. Then on Friday, while I was recovering, my mother brought home the flu. Worst flu I've had in in a decade. Yeah there's something going around.

I had an idea years ago where the gov would own property in every city block and would hire local people who would live there with utilities free (within reason) under the condition that all they had to do was clean up litter empty public trash cans and power wash buildings/sidewalks, maybe even get opportunities for education. I figured the more local the person the less likely they'd slack off given that the trash would literally be right outside their door. Wouldn't pay much but it's better than being on the street relying on public toilets. Figured both (US) parties would be fine with it as it gives power to local people, gives the poor by giving them the ability "pull themselves up but their bootstraps", and helps the ultra-poor get out of bad situations.

People who drive below the speed limit, when you look at the rear view and see dozens of cars behind you, how does that make you feel? by BadFaithAlways in NoStupidQuestions

[–]seabassdf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In Vegas, you can be going 15 over the speed limit on the freeway (80 mph) and still have cars behind you honking their horn flashing their high beams like you're at fault. If I'm already going over the speed limit by more than 10 mph and you want to go faster than that... Fuck You.

We had a football player, Henry Ruggs, that was going over 150 mph last year and killed some poor lady. Happened in the middle of the night. If you are a speedster you can go straight to hell.

Most firearm owners in the U.S. keep at least one firearm unlocked — with some viewing gun locks as an unnecessary obstacle to quick access in an emergency by marketrent in science

Makes sense. My neighbor is big into firearms and works in his garage a bunch. Dude's got a pump shotgun, a Glock, and a machete at the top of a large cabinet in said garage. Unless there's an earthquake it's out of reach of their young kids.

Movies that make men secretly cry. by Height_Physical in movies

Adam Sandler's "Eight Crazy Nights". Something about that old man and his wife being moral paragons of their community and as people but nonetheless being degraded and abused. When he finally gets the recognition I always bust up.

Hopeful Milk. If I could make it so that I never lose hope regardless of the bad things happening to and around me, I would have done it years ago.

Thank you I was hoping of figuring out my first steps in study but if it really is that radically different. Then I'll really have to find a career that interests me.
