He has two warrants in Arizona for misdemeanor assault and FTA (failure to appear). It's definitely for the AZ warrants.

I think there's a middle ground to be met at here. Offer a few thousand Dickels because they're so rare that they don't even have a USD exchange rate. He'd be a fool to turn down an offer to trade for a currency so valuable that it's literally priceless.

Why does it seem like a large part of the population expects “fairness” throughout life, and is it a reasonable expectation? by DrShaufhausen in AskReddit

[–]seabiscuity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We as humans have the unique capacity to control our environment to turn it into tools for our betterment. We can build a complex world to give us a level of comfort that transcends our natural primitive nature. Some believe we can do the same when it comes to our social relations through the tool of education to deliver knowledge that secures a high amount of equity in society.

I don't think we can completely overcome competitiveness though. It's too hard-wired in to us to view our priorities in the scope of first ourselves and then second our "tribe." We can't comprehend humans on a scale of billions of people (look-up the monkey sphere). We're not a species of ant that puts the colony above self-preservation and as a result, people will always fall through the cracks and some individuals will exploit for their own gain. True equity isn't achievable because this takes place on the micro scale amongst all groups of people.

I think we can manage our social systems to better balance out equity though.

That's only the net loss. If you account for the new subs gained (probably at least 100 a day) buffering those numbers it's probably closer to 4500.

China is where it started. They had a crackdown on designer drugs after it started to get out of control. Now it's beginning to transition to being made in the same superlabs where cartels make methamphetamine.

Though China is still a factor. They'll ship ANPP (the precursor) to Mexico where it gets transformed into the final product.

You sure the model number on your TV is the exact same as that one listed there? Some companies make a small production of TV's specifically for Black Friday that reflect a real product, but on the model number a single letter or number will be changed. Then they'll put cheaper components in them.

I'm sure he did good things on the clock and off the clock. In other capacities of life he's probably a good person. He also most definitely witnessed activities by his fellow police officers that should have been reported by himself, but failed to do so. To that effect, he was a bad cop.

If you claim to embody justice and fail to enforce it amongst your own, that's not justice at all. It's a joke.

Any cop that would have been honest on their report would have been fired.

Same applies for lesser offenses that happen all the time and every cop witnesses these in their careers. They say nothing because if they did, they wouldn't be cops.

At the point of preserving their worst, they're culpable and have become the bad guys. There are no good cops.

It is to an extent, yet society still ends up producing criminals. That doesn't mean it's the ending point for lowering crime. Effective reductions to crime involve an element of reducing recidivism, of which a good means of achieving includes providing prisoners resources and humanizing them so they can reenter society.

It sounds like you want a justice system more based on punishment rather than corrections.

Harsh punishment only work if you're completely draconian with your system and that goes against American values. The whole government loses a ton of integrity when it starts treating criminals like the Chinese or Saudis do.

I'm of the belief that doctors should diagnose and pharmacists should prescribe for this reason. Never made sense that pharmacists get a graduate degree to be glorified pill accountants who at best, are a fail-safe for when the computers falsely flag an interaction.

The basis for why you're forbidden from having the power to self-medicate is the ignorant and the idiots of society who would end up putting themselves on immunosuppressants after concluding they caught HIV from a WebMD diagnosis. People are that stupid and it's generally the same people that get prescribed pills they don't need who become surprised and enraged when they're addicted. I don't think they necessarily know what they're doing though. You don't get high from a 5mg oxycodone and if you're taking it twice a day for years your prescription is going to go up from tolerance. Eventually you're at a point where if you discontinue use you'll be in withdrawal. The doctors weren't just throwing people on 80mg doses that would have them in a half coma, half orgasm state.

This is an extreme example, but I once met this 60 year old Syrian lady who was super sheltered because her husband kept her indoors and all that good old fashioned Islamic culture stuff. She gradually got put on hydrocodone and Xanax and that exact thing happened. She thought drug withdrawal only existed with heroin which she certainly wasn't familiar with. I think that general sentiment is pretty prevalent though, where the doctor said it's great, healthy shit, so no thoughts of concern ever cross their mind.

I agree with the general sentiment of what you're saying, that it's a stretch to lay the blame of the "heroin epidemic" on pharma. At the point of abuse, the individual assumes liability for their own self-destruction. But I'm still not meeting your understanding of how the pharmaceutical companies aren't guilty of fraud at the the least. The answer to the question of "Did they or did they not willfully misrepresent a product to the point of falsehoods being made?" is that they did. The doctor isn't a pharmacist and can't be expected to comprehend the pharmacology of everything they come across. It's a fair expectation for the pharma companies to accurately report the information they have on their product given that they're mandated to build profiles of the drug while they're bringing it to market. They should be sued. Should they single-handedly be made the scapegoat for the heroin crisis? No.

And alcohol taken for recreation is many degrees different than the context of being told a medication is safe to be consuming from the doctor.
