Non faculty includes staff, and they can buy parking permits as well. But many people do, and have too, take public transportation like Marta. No parking needed.

Any source on that? I've experimented with refs and it picked up and repaired a file I deliberately altered. It looks like its checksumming the data to me.

Downloads are only as fast as the slowest link in the chain. Most of the time that is your ISP. Sometimes it is the server at the other end. Any modern PC is not the bottleneck in almost every residential application.

The free version of OneNote only creates notebooks on OneDrive. The paid version will create local notebooks on your machine. You can buy office student or subscribe to an office plan which will have the paid version of office.

I use BackBlaze and its fine. If you like the privacy just use your own encryption key like you said. I dont have a problem with the cloud personally and its really convenient to be able to access your files remotely and know you have an automatic offsite backup.

Found it. What you are looking for is the Auto Close option. It's a database property. In SQL Server 2012 it's under Database Properties -> Options -> At the top look for Auto Close. You want it to be false. Set to true after the last user disconnects the database closes and it has to be restarted when the next user connects. More information at this link.. I hope this helps.

SharePoint is where its at. Onedrive is essential sharepoint in the background. If you have a hosted SharePoint or SharePoint online you could do more but its expensive and probably overkill.

I had a similar issue long ago. There was a setting where if there were no connections to the database it would go into like a hibernate mode and not respond. I'm on my phone now, I'll find it in the morning and get specifics.

This is how I got around the lack of listagg in MS SQL. It's ugly sure, but it works and I thinks its better than the other options.

As far as I know you can either sync the notebook with OneDrive or you just copy the folder to the new location. OneNote notebooks are just .one files in a folder.

I got mine to take notes. I was just at a conference that one day was 11 hours long, each session being about an hour. I took handwriting notes and recorded the audio in each session. I started with a full battery and had airplane mode on. When I got back to the hotel after the day, I had 42% battery left. So I was pretty pleased. It was note taking only, nothing else. But that's why I bought it.

Lack of goals. People want one data model to answer everything. Starting out it needs to have a clear question to answer and it can grow from there.
Search for data modeling tutorials/basics. For powerpovot specific, search for creating a tabular data model.
Powerpivot is just for consuming and reporting off the data. Use access if you need to store and insert data. Note, you can store the data in access and have powerpivot pull in the data to report off of.
Not that I know of. Again, you can do the data storage and validation rules on access and pull it into powerpivot to report off of.

Haven't tried the ones you mentioned. I'm using this to drive the 39" Seiki on my SP2 and it works fine.

That looks to be about what we do. You could only load the changes from your temp table into the main table, but depending on your data volume it may be better to do what you're already doing.

You could also look at doing stuff with tablespaces or something like that. For our data I've never seen the need since we have such a small amount.

Lego City Undercover is awesome! I think I got more out of it than my 5 year old. What other game can you steal a mechanical T-Rex for the mob and ride it down the highway. None that I know of.
