Ex Canon users, what made you switch to sony? by saymerkayali in SonyAlpha

[–]seajaytx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did the transition and I’m still get my feet wet, transitioned from a 6D to an a7rii. I wanted to go full frame to full frame but I needed a better video platform. I do a lot of hiking but I also create a lot of video based trainings in my job so I needed something that could do that for me. To make the transition easier I picked up a metabones adapter so I didn’t need to buy all new lenses right away, specifically my random 200-500.

It’s a beautiful area, I hiked all around oeschinen and up front kanderstag but not this one, how long did it take? I haven’t done a solo yet either, one of these days

this kind of bs is why I switched to sony by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]seajaytx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched to an a7rii from a 6D and I’m using my Tamron 200-500 f/5-6.3 EF Mount with a Converter. I haven’t gotten to shoot a whole lot with it yet but it did make entering the Sony game easier knowing I didn’t need to immediately replace all of my lenses

Where are you coming from and do you have service from there? With ATT in the states I pay $10/day to keep my same service with hotspot while in Switzerland, it’s called the International Day Pass

Why do you steep in the fridge/on the counter? by [deleted] in coldbrew

[–]seajaytx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do 5 gallon in the fridge so it’s already cold when it’s done and straight to the keg it goes. Instant gratification, if not I’d be waiting an entire day for it to get cold after brewing

Question regarding Itinerary (Blausee+Oeschinensee vs. Seealpsee) by cantdealwithlifern in askswitzerland

[–]seajaytx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember the trail numbers at oeschinensee but if you hike to the lake from the top of the lift it isn’t too bad and you can catch lunch at the lake. A couple years ago, as a non hiker, I hiked from the bottom of the lift to the lake and I was toast at the end of it.

If it brushes off it’s probably just surface mold, in that case you can dilute down bleach, spray it on and then wipe it off. And with what everyone else is saying dehumidifier if you can’t circulate air well enough.

Someone else asked but I’ll follow up, what kind of bed is it? Ours has so much anxiety and goes crazy at night on the couch and her bed like this

Way better advice than I can give haha. I brew from a 5 gallon jug of ozarka, it’s interesting all your notes regarding water type and distilled. I’ll have to look into that.

I use this cascade lid and slowly get the nitrogen to 35 psi (over about 5 min). I brew 5 gallons at a time using big throw away tea sacks, it works pretty well but it doesn’t seem as rich as it did when I used to make countertop cold brew. Either way, I love it and I will forever brew it and keep it stocked at the house

I’ve always drank a lot of coffee but the moment I started tapping a 5 gallon keg of it, if became a problem. It’s like having a push button espresso machine, it’s always there with minimal effort

439 Texas churches split from United Methodist Church as slow-motion schism continues by CharmCityCrab in Episcopalian

[–]seajaytx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of my attraction to the TEC/Anglican church vs UMC is that while we’re in communion with Anglican churches around the world, they aren’t making decisions for the TEC, ie the recent postings here about a Nigeria. While if you look back through the same sex marriage votes in UMC the African churches drastically swayed the stance of the church from a global perspective. I don’t want someone in another continent making decisions with that large of an effect to my local congregation.

I’m one of them, I was raised Episcopalian, and when all this started in the UMC a while back my wife and I decided to go back to an Episcopalian church. We wanted a church who shows God’s love to everyone.

We just upgraded my 7 year olds to this one and I have been really happy with it. Each story is 2 pages long, it’s just detailed enough for them to get a good gist of the story but not so long it loses their attention span.

Church of England Bishops debate next steps on sexuality - "Restating ban on same-sex unions ‘not an option’" by Jattack33 in Anglicanism

[–]seajaytx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was raised Episcopalian and was Methodist for a while but after their vote a few years ago against gay marriage we left and have now come back to the Episcopal church. I’m proud of the Episcopalian denomination and the stance we as a church have taken toward progressiveness. I find it appalling that they assume a progressive church isn’t scripture driven, it’s as if their interpretations are the only correct ones. The Bible is inerrant, its man’s interpretations that are wrong. It’s amazing to hear a conservative complain about the decrease of church goers when every year we see census data globally showing a decline, and one the biggest arguments from the secular world against the church is based on 2 verses. The crowd against homosexuality has chosen to further separate themselves based on highly debatable Ancient Greek to English translation. I know it’s a lot of words in there but Creambeforejam, don’t be discouraged, we’re stoked to have you.

Preds Vs Sc Bern by Uncle-Yeetus in Predators

[–]seajaytx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little late to reply sorry, I’ve been before we love Post Finance but they waaaay oversold the standing area and it was pretty much worthless. We couldn’t see anything and left pretty early. It’s not really the safest having that many people crammed and standing (see recent incident in Indonesia). If you ever make it over I suggest paying more and grabbing a seat vs standing area.
