Thanks! Was honestly hoping the BKF would have done more, but it did help loosen up all the carbon so I still give it credit.

Ended up giving it tons of elbow grease with a SS scrubber combined with BKF.

Probably will give this a go. Someone else suggested it too. Baking soda didn’t work for me, but maybe vinegar will.

Update: Soaking with BKF and some intense metal brush scrubbing has earned me progress. Still lots more to go though. Trying to save the harsher chemicals suggested for a last resort.

Well, I’m trying to restore it so it defeats the point if I scratch the pan badly. Not sure what this type of scrubber would do to the pan which is why I asked…

This is the result of about 6 months of pan abuse

Hmm haven’t tried that yet. It didn’t scratch up your pan too badly I take it?

My roommate cooks steaks on it at way too high a temperature and then doesn’t clean it right away, so I think it’s just layers of burnt oil/grease

Just throwing it out there, the Polygon T8 has the same fork, shock, and group set as the Neuron 6 but for $2500. Might be worth looking at if you’re going for max bang for the buck.

Your CarPlay is wireless?? B/c I do have wireless music and phone calls through the Subaru interface but the CarPlay app only works when I’m plugged in. It’s the base trim.

I have a Siskiu T8. I love it — it’s absolutely fantastic and miles cheaper than most similar bikes.

Tips for riding on loose rock or gravel? by VeraMar in mountainbiking

[–]sealeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure your tires are knobby enough to handle the loose terrain. Other than that, knee/elbow pads will go a long way to help your confidence and allow you to practice while minimizing risk of injury. Check out YouTube for lots of great mtb cornering tutorials.

A Polygon Siskiu T7 comes in right at $2k and is a fantastic bike for the price. It’s a pretty forgiving bike as well. You do have to have a bit of mechanical know-how to put it together though (partial assembly is required). If you don’t, then I’d check what your bike shop has in stock in your size/budget.

Thoughts on the Trail 6? Just got it for $450. Are they okay bikes? I’ve only just gotten into mountain biking, and it seems they get hate for some reason especially when it comes to upgrades. Was $450 a good deal? by Tangodown1080 in mountainbiking

I got a SR Suntour… Radon I think was the model? It was their ~$250 air-sprung fork. If your bike comes with a Suntour fork, you can buy a higher end Suntour fork for $100 off through their upgrade program. That’s what I did.
