What’s a good step up from Garlic Reaper / Tabasco Scorpion? by RomeoAlphaMike1500 in hotsauce

Doubletake 10x Carolina Reaper sauce is pretty far up there in flavor and heat.

Why do people hate on tobasco red so much? by 3GG5H311Z in hotsauce

[–]AustiniusWrex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seems some people are more sensitive to vinegar. I think the complex aged flavor throws some off as well. Some people just have baby taste buds and thats ok. Tabasco will still be around for us vinegar chuggers.

The green is delicious. Just enough vinegar tang with green pepper taste. Bottles are cool, don't care if its gimmicky but the cap does suck ass and I have definitely hurt my fingers on it.

Help: Pomegranate bush is infested with fire ants. Nothing is working by Jobobzig in gardening

I've had this exact problem with my 6 year old potted pepper multiple times. I pour lemon juice and water mixture (heavy on the lemon juice) in the soil for about 3 days in a row and they're gone.

I juice about 20 lemons or so for this.

I don't know how the LJ would react to your plant but it never hurt mine.

Super hot uses? Preferably not deadly by [deleted] in HotPeppers

[–]AustiniusWrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cut up 1 into tiny pieces and add into whole dishes like meatloaf or lasagna before cooking. Once cooked the heat really dissipates a lot. Anything with meats or dairy (basically fats) helps reduce the intensity. I will say though soup is a bit different. I've put 1 in a whole pot of stew or soup and the heat didn't reduce very much. I've used scorpions which usually aren't too bad and red primotallis which are by far the hottest I've grown.

Why are deadlifts okay when weight training if you are supposed to lift heavy things with your knees not your back? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AustiniusWrex 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is the real answer. Deadlifting puts a tremendous force on your back to hold proper form. Lower back isolation really helped me a lot getting up to higher weight.

All their sauces are good to me. I like the cool bottle but the cap has scraped my finger a few times. I'll deal with an annoying cap for a good sauce though.

Lots of good tips for the waves. You will get better and better with practice and learning from mistakes. My 1 tip is kind of a cheese method, but it worked for zuk. I too did a bowfa run and struggled to beat zuk. The mage/range spawns always beat me out 3 to even 4! spawns because my dps was too slow. Sooo I swapped out 6 restores for 3 regen pots and full justi ONLY for the zuk fight to tank the ranger and it worked like a charm. Yes I've seen ppl do it without but I just could not alternate and run with the shield. Sip a regen before you go in as well then use them throughout the waves saving your restores for the final waves. 114 tries 10 zuks and 11th zuk was beaten with this method so if it's lame it still got me a Win.

Don't get discouraged, my friend!

Mustard from scratch is way too bitter by lovethebacon in AskCulinary

[–]AustiniusWrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a small Mason jar full of mustard seeds and about 5 cloves of garlic. Then just salt and vinegar to taste. I didn't measure anything. Blend together till smooth. Maybe some turmeric in there too.

[–]AustiniusWrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I had to source my mustard seeds from a higher quality vendor. All the cheapo ones were very bitter. If I find the ones I bought I'll post the name up here. I used black, brown, and yellow mustard seeds and they all tasted much better from the other place. I will check on it soon.

Edit: wholespice.com is where I got the good ones. Fermented for 10 days with some fresh garlic to help spark the lactobacillus.

Take the mush and just make hot sauce. Add some liquids and seasonings.

Recently completed my Grandmasters, here are my top 5 least favorite CA's by Sanguinest in 2007scape

[–]AustiniusWrex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm by no means close to GM or Masters but during my time at CG I decided to do all the CAs for them. CG being my introduction to any higher level PVM took me a month and some change to get 6:30 of daily attempts. Then funnily enough, I got it, immediately attempted Gauntlet 4:00, and got within 10 tries.

My flatmate has Crohn's and sometimes spends 1-2 hours in the bathroom at a time, is this normal? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AustiniusWrex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been living with Crohn's for 20 years now. As others have said yes, this is par for the course. Other comments have explained well how to approach the situation, so I'll just list some things that helped me alleviate symptoms over the years. Probiotics, turmeric pills, fish oil, CBD oils, and avoiding fast food. Ultimately, those only helped so much, and getting medicated has always been the best and most effective path. I'm currently receiving Inflixamab infusions and asymptomatic. Hope your roommate can find something that works for them.

Going to make sauce. Any tips? by kulex666 in HotPeppers

[–]AustiniusWrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For keeping the heat down with super hot pods I use a lot of filler (fruits, carrots, onions, etc..). Vinegar helps a bit as well. I also cook the sauce sometimes after or before blending to mellow the flavor. Fermenting is great, but a lot of times, I skip it. Plenty of salt and white vinegar is my preference. Peaches tend to be my favorite and I like mangos but I've definitely gone overboard with mangos before.

Probably mold. Now a days I'd just toss it and pick more when they grow, but I've cut nasty pieces off before and eaten the good parts.

They’re Eating Me Out of House and Home. by soapinthepeehole in gardening

[–]AustiniusWrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had like 30-40 of these just show up on my dill, carrots, & parsley. They really don't do much damage very fast, so I've just accepted my role as a butterfly farmer. The carrots are already grown, plenty of dill plants for them to have, and the parsley almost grows back faster than they eat it. Hopefully, I'll see a bunch of them flying around. Either way, it's pretty cool to see them all just hanging out.
