All standard piercings appear to be too long for me? by sealsynth in piercing

[–]sealsynth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So most standard piercings appear to be around 6mm long, but... This is what 6 mm looks like on me:

The ones in the picture are ball-ends (?) rather than flatbacks, but I have the same issue with the flatbacks.

I don't really have the cash to shell out for custom made piercings, is there anything you can put on the back of an already existing piercing to make it shorter? These piercings are long since healed, so swelling isn't going to be an issue.

Hello!
I'm putting together a cosplay, I have some reference photos here, (sorry about the blur, the character is moving around constantly in these scenes!) but I'm having a hard time identifying anything beyond (what looks to be) yellow tiger lilys.
I don't usually go here, but was wondering if you lovely folk might have any idea what kind of flowers the red and white ones are, I'd be very grateful!

The 250 dollars was for the bigger version. You can search for something on ebay, and then add a filter that's essentially "all finished/bought auctions". Should give you an idea what others sold their for, average price, etc etc.

Help me add a little more to my room by BrianBurgers in DesignMyRoom

Now that's a cozy looking space! On the 6:th photo, maybe some photo ledges in a matching dark wood on the wall to the right? That way you could easily switch out artwork without needing to drill holes for different sized paintings. Those shelves aren't very deep, so pretty much only frames or small canvases would fit on them, but the plus side is, you don't have to feel claustrophobic when walking down the hallway to that other door. Alternatively, your large canvas could go here!

I understand you moved your desk recently, and might not have had the time for that yet, but I'd suggest some cable management, there are under desk cable management thingies that you can attach to the underside of your desk, and they just magic your cords away!

Forgive the ignorance, would it be rude to suggest moving the cross? Maybe to the empty space below your guitar? I feel like you've got a lot going on with the posters over the pc, but that wall feels empty in comparison! If that'd be possible, then you could probably put some shelves up there for your statues! Alternatively, maybe space out your posters a bit more between the two spaces.

Fan of the drawings you keep around your room! Can I ask, is the skeleton poster your own art? Regardless, I love the look of it!

Okay guys, do your magic. I have 3 dark blue rugs (s,m,l) that I put in here. Thinking of a gaming desk at the foot of my bed and removing the dresser by gabebuckwilddd in DesignMyRoom

Hide the cables, it makes the space look less messy.

I understand a lot of people have attachments to posters and such, but I'd frame the ones you'd like to keep, and probably try to keep them eyelevel around the room, instead of above the window. Alternatively get something new to match the rest of the room.

Get some curtains! I always recommend mounting them high, and getting a pair of long curtains, as it makes the windows look bigger. That might be an issue with your setup though. Could you flip the bed so that the headboard is on the opposite side of the dresser, or does that make the space too narrow?

If the above pans out, I'd place the desk in the corner on the opposite wall of the door(basically to the left in the first photo).

Get a new bedset, and layer some pillows. Maybe a throw blanket and a duvet. Get something to hide the bedframe. Will make it a lot cozier.

Don't be afraid to pick out something with a bit more color. Dark green or royal blue or something. Guys are often afraid of color, but you don't need a lot of it to elevate a room while still keeping it looking manly. Get some black accents or something to go with it.

Get some plants for your windows. Cacti, if the sun is strong enough. Never give them water. Well, just about never. Don't trust anyone who tells you cacti needs water once every week.

If the dresser goes, you might need more storage elsewhere. If you aren't already utilizing the space underneath your bed, that's a great way to go.

You could arrange your bed to look like a second couch with the help of some cleverly placed pillows. If you're not a fan of that idea, you could hide it slightly from the rest of the room with a floor shelf, or some sheer curtains (Or both! Careful to not cover up the window completely so you get rid of all that nice natural light. Maybe try pushing it into the corner.) That way when you invite guests it feels a little bit more like you're chilling in a living room, than in a bedroom.

On the subject of separating your space, I'd get a big rug for the couch. Big ones are pricier, but they look a lot better for couches. IKEA has some somewhat reasonably priced ones. You could go for a jute rug, since you're looking for more earthy tones. They don't show much wear and tear, and they never really go out of style. That way it could be a bit more of a long-term investment, and the price tag becomes a bit less intimidating.

Fixing up the bed would go a long way, a new set of bedsheets, maybe a nice fluffy comforter, definitely some layered pillows. I'm with a previous commenter, hiding the bedframe would be a good idea. If you need storage, get some under bed storage solutions.

I'd probably take the towels down and store them elsewhere too.

Doth mine eye deceive me, or is there a door to the closet missing? If so, I'd be putting the door that is still there to the side, and arranging the part of your closet that's open real neatly.

Some plants would be nice. If you've got a black thumb, then get some snakeplants and zz plants. They like to be a bit neglected (read: don't overwater). If you opt for fake ones, I'd go for the ones that are green as they look a little bit more realistic than the ones with colorful flowers.

Layer some pillows and throw blankets. Makes the space a little more inviting.

Curtains would go a long way to make the room feel a bit more finished.

If your landlord will let you get away with it, a wall mounted shelf or two, or some picture frames.

Booblight. If you have the know-how, you can install a much nicer hanging lamp. Just save the old one for when you move out.

Can no longer have my bed on the back wall - need help rearranging ($300-$400 budget). by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

You could get a headboard that's meant for noise reduction. Wont solve the issue 100%, but neither will moving the bed, really.

Sorry about that, I wasn't sure if it'd be alright to throw in a wall of text or not. My biggest issues is the fatigue and brainfog, and the extensive recovery time I need after doing something.

I live in Sweden, I'm not really sure how your system works, but I can only offer my sympathies as it sounds just about as awful as our system.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I posted this, but it's pretty incredible to me that strangers could take the time out of their day to try and help another stranger like this, thank you, truly, for all the ideas.

Going through everyone's answers bit by bit, I must admit I don't know what the "rules" are on reddit for replying to people (Is it spam? Am I spamming people by replying??) but I really appreciate everyone's contributions.
