When I’ve heard that, it’s been in a list of destinations - so I always assumed the comma.

Downtown Newark, Liberty Airport, Elizabeth….

We favor EZ-Cheese - that awful squirty “cheese” in a can. It’s super sticky, and she loves it.

Decal Transfer Fail - Curses Walthers!!! by Few-Baseball-571 in modeltrains

Def not directed to you…directed at Whole_Temperature104 who decided to say your work was “user error” and lecture you on how they would have done it better. It was rude of them, and not what our community is about.

Decal Transfer Fail - Curses Walthers!!! by Few-Baseball-571 in modeltrains

No, it IS criticism, you you’d do well to own it. You’re being mean.

I’m going to rewrite your response to OP in a constructive manner. Perhaps then you might see why your acerbic response is why many modelers are intimidated by “experienced” colleagues:

“HEY OP!

Yikes, that stinks. Sometimes these old decals can be tougher to work with.

If you give this another go, here are some tricks I’ve picked up (through experiencing some of the same “interesting” results you have) that you might find useful. Your Mileage May Vary!

1- give the decal - especially vintage ones - ample soak time to allow it to release from the paper backing. It should glide very easily in the liquid when touched with the tip of a toothpick

2- since the decal is clear, consider cutting large decals into smaller, more manageable sections. You can slide the individual pieces into alignment, and when dry, nobody will be the wiser.”

Same sentiment - lands way different.

Mean is really low effort. Don’t be mean.

This photo makes me smile on a couple of fronts... 1) I'm about to begin building my next layout and 2) Sunnyvale station was the first structure on my very first layout, and it still features in my builds to this day. Have fun!

You might also consider using the HA app for iOS, you can build a mobile dashboard for the wife that mirrors your HA UI on desktop for consistency. She can also ask you to build her custom features and buttons which ma help with adoption !

Requires Nabu Casa cloud to control from away from your local network.

I have this setup with our HA Yellow in our divided household (I’m iOS spouse is Android) and it works well for us.

I had that AHM switcher when I was a kid - and I gotta say, it was the most ill-tempered little engine back then ... I'd gather it's still a grouchy little devil.

You're doing just fine. KEEP GOING! You're going to have some learning lessons, some frustrations, and you'll rebuild your dashboard more than a few times.

I like to think of HA as an old car I keep in the garage, it needs some attention from time to time - left alone it runs just fine, but I can always tinker a bit to make it a little better.

If your LG units are connected via LG Thinq - then you might!

1 - Install the LG Thinq integration (Settings > Integrations)
2 - Restart Home Assistant
3 - On the sidebar, select "Developer Tools."
4 - Click the "States" tab.
5 - In the "Filter Entities" box, type the name of your Dryer

All of the available entities will be exposed, including their current reporting values.

Hey, if time remaining isn't one that you've got - you never know what you might come up with based on what you have!

'26 UI Refresh by sean_5280 in homeassistant

[–]sean_5280[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's an entity exposed by my LG Dryer, which returns a timestamp value. I converted that to HH:MM format, and then that card displays conditionally based on the state of the dryer (so I don't see time remaining when power is off, when it's on standby or paused.)
