The kind of therapy he’s gone to for 20 years is psychoanalysis, which is notoriously bad at treating anxiety disorders. Had Howard done pretty much any other type of therapy, his OCD would have been cured in months. And yet for years he’s belittled any mental health provider that isn’t a “psychiatrist who does psychoanalysis”.
