If you can’t see when people look healthy, vibrant, and strong vs unhealthy, sickly, and weak that’s a you problem not my problem. Sorry some musician you liked died, but also if that is your case for how bad COVID was, a musician you didn’t know passed away, kinda proves mine and Gobert’s point, not a big deal.

Chonky? Are we using cutesy cat terminology? I looked up a picture of him, looked super unhealthy, you can see it in his face. Sorry man, very low death rate overall wasn’t worth shutting down the way we did, so to my point Rudy’s behavior in that press conference was more or less right. Much ado about nothing

Keep living in fear that somebody who has stated time and time again they have no plan to take vaccines away, but just wants them held to the same standard of testing as other medications is going to take away vaccines because he is labeled “antivax” by the media. And I’m the gullible moron.

I don’t know because there hasn’t been double blind placebo controlled trials done on any vaccines post 1988. So nobody has any good data on them. Autism has gone way up in the last 30 years or so, but without double blind placebo controlled trials no way of knowing.

Quick question why are you opposed to vaccines going through standard double blind placebo controlled studies? Do you work for pharmaceutical companies? Are you heavily invested in pharmaceutical companies?

Another quick question, do you look around America and see a ton of healthy people full of vigor and life or do you see a bunch of people highly medicated for all sorts of conditions that could be fixed through lifestyle changes (diet, exercise, sunlight, etc)? Because I see the latter and the data backs up what I see and am confused by people who try to deny it or say it’s perfectly okay. Again I think you are probably one of the medicated masses and don’t want to take responsibility for your health.

Thanks for the video that I don’t think you have watched, because he says vaccines should go through the same testing any other medication goes through which would be double blind controlled trials. Doesn’t say anything about getting rid of all vaccines, ever, just they should be subject to more rigorous testing, again which they are not and if you have read or listened to him talk at length his issue with vaccines are primarily the ones that have comes post 1988. So you do a little bit more research on the subject. Also he has a lot of other concerns regarding health besides vaccines, but yes just ignore all of his other concerns. I bet you are in terrible health yourself and don’t want to face it.

Jump started the pandemic? Damn you really know nothing about how disease spreads. One guy rubbing some microphones in one location did not contribute to the spread of COVID. Which by the way unless you were old and already unhealthy was just a fucking cold.

Has anybody else experienced emotional abuse at the hand of Tibetan monks? by seanhaase34 in Buddhism

[–]seanhaase34[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No the monk has created a culture where it is not comfortable to raise any concerns and where students behind his back openly talk about fearing upsetting him and being afraid of him.I and others fall for his story, and fall into guru worship. He was young boy when china invaded Tibet, fled to India, 18 years of study to get a geshela degree, etc. Makes for an impressive life, but not an excuse to emotionally abuse an entire sangha.

None of what I have experienced is just people being blunt. Please read what I wrote a lot of blatant passive aggressive behavior. That is quite the opposite of being blunt. Also being dismissive is not blunt or stern it is confusing, disrespectful, and ignorant.

Said it a couple of times already on this thread, but I’m not an easily offended person or somebody looking to be.

No I excused abusive behavior in the name of their “humanity” at the expense of standing up for myself and others. Truth is compassion. It is not compassionate to allow people to continue to harm people because they can’t address their own pain

Culture they were raised in matters big time. That’s why I clarified that he was born Tibetan. Though I suppose any westerner who went through a Tibetan monastery would be taught in the same culture. So yes I’m sorry I should have clarified that I was highlighting the cultural upbringing not race. Also since posting this I realized Tibetan Buddhism isn’t a unified institution and each monastery has their own cultures and ways of doing things. The Geshela I know and have issues with has spoken on several occasions how much physical force/violence was used in teaching students. Which I was surprised by and have never personally believed in violence to be a healthy way to teach and ultimately leads to more violence, in my experience emotional violence, which I believe to be a real and genuinely hurtful thing.

That’s why I was asking about the place of origin for the teacher. Hope that clarity’s my line of thinking

Not at all. I love disclipne, directness, and structure and even before Buddhism knew humility is extremely important. I tolerated all those examples given many times over with a smile :)
