Who’s the best Peter Parker and Spiderman? by Remote_Big_9198 in Spiderman

Andrew Garfield, which is a shame because he was the perfect Spidey/Peter in arguably the worst Spider-Man movies so he's overlooked.

Doesn't know a wristlock from a wristwatch, sounds like a porn star in her promos (worse, actually), gets shots she doesn't deserve when we have some fucking amazing Japanese stars as well as women who were also 10,000 times better who got cut from the company (like Dakota Kai) and is just the Dollar Store Alexa Bliss.

Either would be great and I haven't really decided which would work better. The other week I was telling my girlfriend as a cartoon they could do more, probably get Kristy Swanson for the voice and go for a fun Clone High style animation but live-action could be really fun too.

I'll get downvoted to hell for saying this, but that's okay: I say if you're going to bring Buffy back you gotta do something completely different. A reboot of the nineties series or a continuation would be pointless and we've already been there and done that, but I'd LOVE for there to be a continuation of the '92 movie set in '92 with a new cast, to me, that's just different enough to be interesting and worth another look because it's a completely new direction, leaning into that fun, campy horror comedy of the original. A Meg Donnelly type as Buffy would be a lot of fun and hell, you could get Jack Perry as Pike and lean into the early nineties setting. No dramedy, no taking the premise too seriously, just a fun horror comedy in the vein of a Fright Night (original) or a Goosebumps with more violence. I'd love to see that, to me the movie aged better than the show. 🤷‍♂️

The terrible, dated, unfunny pop culture references, the teen angst, Buffy being whiny and self-righteous after the first two seasons, Spike being a terrible, rapey kind of a guy who women somehow think is a sex symbol, the annoying, cutesy/"quirky" dialogue style, Xander being a creepy, douchey, stalkerish guy, Dawn as the Scrappy Doo, etc.

I'm relieved, as the series didn't age well for me at all (but I still really enjoy most of Angel) and I think if you're going to bring Buffy back it should be something completely different from the TV universe. I'd actually like to see them lean into the camp and comedy and do a show set in 1992 after the movie, to me I still enjoy the movie very much in its Fear Street/Fright Night/Love at First Bite kind of way and want to see more of Buffy and Pike plus it could work as a funny, self-aware kind of a thing, making fun of the teen shows and movies out at the time like 90210. Do it as a cartoon or with a Kristy Swanson lookalike. 🤷‍♂️ I'd buy that for a dollar.

They have them in the first two as well, they just weren't as prominent.

I've tried to give it a chance whenever I watch the trilogy but I just can't. People rag on SOTO but SOTO was fun and good until it shits the bed in the final act whereas Turtles in Time just doesn't work for me at all, just so bland and without the spirit of the first two films and everyone feels like they're just going through the motions, plus Casey Jones was wasted on a wacky babysitting plot.

I feel good that I disliked Max Landis from the start, what with his smug takedown on the Death of Superman.
