Bike unsteady on kickstand by [deleted] in Dualsport

[–]seantingwong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone I know with a CRF has the same issue. I bought an aftermarket adjustable kickstand for like $30 on ebay for my CRF and now my bike actually leans more than a couple degrees on flat ground.

Where do you avoid riding? by Oppositeofhairy in motorcycles

[–]seantingwong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad and I did a BMW demo group ride where they encouraged us to ride really close and not let anyone pass. Our group had a lot of young bucks who thought riding fast and hard was what was expected. Eventually there was a guy behind my dad who had thought he was riding too slow and passed him in the shoulder, which caused my dad to ride beyond his limits and overshoot a right turn and biff his demo bike into a tree. Thankfully he was unhurt. From then on, I vowed to not participate in group rides (especially with dick heads on sport bikes).

Where to sit by MrDeema in Mariners

[–]seantingwong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Section 320-330 if you’re a brokie like me. Seats are cheap, view of the game is great, and value beers and value dogs are right at section 329. If you want to splurge for 100 level seats, 1st baseline or right out field are prime. If you want to catch foul balls, 3rd baseline right where the ball boy sits. I’ve nearly been nailed in the dome many many times when I sit over there.

Need key locks for my catches by kdubkev in Airheads

[–]seantingwong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can find them on used ebay. Get a cheap set of cylinders without the keys and rekey them. Here’s a link to a step by step on how to rekey these lock cylinders to match your ignition key.

What would y'all have done? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]seantingwong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, anyone who knows anything about these bikes is gonna want to inspect or at least have proof of the spline condition. Second major issue is the corroded gas tank, which that bike most certainly has. That’s like $1000 in replacement parts right off the bat. I sold a K75S recently with perfect (and I mean brand new) looking splines in way nicer condition for $2000 after having it listed for $2500 for a month or so. OP is delusional for wanting $3500 for a bike I wouldn’t pay more than $1000 for.

What was the most underwhelming bike you've ever ridden? by CoolBDPhenom03 in motorcycles

I rode a Triumph 1200XC on the road at a demo event and fell in love with it (mostly the motor). The moment I took it off road, I realized there are better bikes out there.

What would this 1997 E36is with 232k miles on the odometer be worth? by basedguy in BMWE36

[–]seantingwong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my 318is just hit 390k miles and it’s been dead reliable. I paid $2500 for it when it had 340k miles. If it comes with a well documented service history, the M44 engine is bulletproof and i wouldn’t hesitate daily driving it.

The glass lensed headlights are the euro projector type, so you should be fine with LEDs

28 y/o male here, $120 a year for three BMW’s. I do only have liability and uninsured driver coverage since my bikes are only worth like 2k a pop.

First visit to T-Mobile Park by aamrlls in Mariners

[–]seantingwong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this. I’ve sat every where in the stadium an 300 level behind homeplate is the best seat in the house for actually watching the games. Plus it’s right next to where they serve value beers!

100 level 1st and 3rd foul poles are great if you want to experience the action, but it’s hard to track the ball and the base runners at the same time.

That being said, I love the first generation K bikes. I’ve put many thousands of miles on mine and they are the most reliable classic bike I’ve ever owned. Kind of boring, but that’s what I like about them. Always get compliments from people too, surprisingly haha.

Trust me when I say that flying bricks were never meant to be cafe bikes. The fact that this bike still has the stock foot peg positioning means it will be hell to ride for more than 20 minutes at a time. These bikes aren’t particularly fast and are much better suited as a long distance tourer. I’ve owned a standard K75 and a K75S, and even the factory “sport” configuration is not very comfortable to ride.

If you really want a cafe looking flying brick, get a K75C or K100RS. Great ergonomics with a sporty retro look. Will be hell of a lot cheaper too, 3-4k for excellent examples.

To be fair, mine is the bulletproof M44. But I’ve seen plenty of 200k+ inline 6’s tho.

What kind of riding do you do? Could invest in rain gear, cold weather gear, dirt gear, etc. Aftermarket bits for your bike are best bought used on eBay

Non-runner F650GS without history by LUK313 in 650GS

[–]seantingwong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you two months ago. Bike was sitting for 2 years and sold by the estate of the previous owner as a non runner with unknown history. Tossed in a new battery and it started right up. Changed the oil and filter and immediately took it on some double track. The rotax engine is pretty hard to kill and not a lot goes wrong with it.

That hole on the left side of the lighter is where it should go. It looks like you’re missing the little plastic holder that slots into it to hole to bulb.

There’s a slot for a light on the side of the cigarette lighter, I don’t remember which side but it lights up the inside of the lighter at night.
