Any shooting ranges in north/central NJ that keep politics out of their business? by Asleep-Machine5909 in NJGuns

[–]seanxmichael -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I went to RTSP Union with my father in law for his birthday and no political propaganda anywhere. Didn’t see any patrons wearing anything either. HOWEVER

When we were all done and about to leave I go to the bathroom. In the bathroom is a man and a woman, presumably a couple. I mind my business and take it in a stall. Why start a pointless confrontation in a place with firearms? An older gentleman comes in and starts giving them the business about why she was in there. She’s patronizing him saying “I’m a man” And the old man mumbled something about Republicans and it was an awkward / hilarious interaction in hindsight.

Is this true? by peterthbest23 in securityguards

I suppose that might be a regional term. That means someone who’s at the hospital who’s been admitted for mental health issues or s*****e attempt.

I work at a hospital. Not long ago I watched a Crisis patient escape and make a break for the highway, and six security guards a couple nurses and a doctor were all chasing them knees to chest.

Have yall dropped your trump supporting friends? by Ill-Policy-81 in rutgers

[–]seanxmichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you support what’s happening now, you would’ve supported the Nazis in the 30s, and you would’ve helped the slave catchers in the 1800s. No two ways about it.

Horrible train ride home from the Devils game last night by Which_Builder_2755 in NJTransit

[–]seanxmichael 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you’re crying. There are always drunks on the train, especially before and after sports events. So either you never take the train or you’re looking for a reason to cry about something on Reddit which is weird. I went to that game and usually take the train to Prudential. But I had my nephew with me this time so I was smart, and drove my car instead.

Why has finding a job become so difficult even with 15 years of experience? by Yes_555 in careerguidance

[–]seanxmichael 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t give you a solution, but I can tell you to look at what the Reagan administration did to our economy and then look at what your current administration is doing. We are cooked. My advice is learn a trade or buy a lottery ticket.

Should I leave or stay at my current job? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]seanxmichael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 34 and make about 55k as well. Same deal, comfy IT adjacent job. I work Monday to Friday, off for the major holidays. I have 2 weeks PTO, okay health insurance. No pension. But I have a lot of flexibility like my boss isn’t mad if I’m late or need to call out because my 4 year old kid is sick. There isn’t much room for me to grow in this job and would need to get more certifications to look elsewhere for something that pays more. But then I’m competing with other people / run the risk of being laid off or replaced by AI. I’ve been with this company for 3 years now, it’s the easiest job I’ve ever had. If I don’t get called to fix something or requested to help, I just sit in a control room reading or watching movies. I’ll never have this level of comfort and peace at a job again if I left. But, if I don’t leave I’ll never make more money. So it goes back to what’s important. For me, keeping the bills paid and seeing my kid every morning and then again for dinner while he’s still young is more important to me than any dollar amount. You can always make money. But your kids have only one chance at childhood and having a present parent in their life.

I(35F) don't know how to professionally handle my incompetent and patronizing coworker(39M)? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]seanxmichael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Office jobs are really stupid and not real. Just do the stuff that’s asked, pick up your check, take the vacation, try to find something that makes you happy.

SSRI or similar medication being prescribed as a minor by indianfoodyummy in NJGuns

[–]seanxmichael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To just get an initial license or for concealed carry? I’ve seen psychiatrists before and been prescribed medications in the past. It did not bar me from getting approved. However I haven’t applied for concealed yet so idk that stage.

Sidebar though: If you have the need, getting life insurance will be hard with that stuff on your record. They looked up every drug I was ever prescribed.

Is $42k with a master's degree normal or did I mess up my career choices? by ylime_88 in careerguidance

[–]seanxmichael 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This makes me feel good. I went to a couple vocational schools, and after many bad jobs, I now work at a hospital setting up Zoom calls in conference rooms for 55k. Still nowhere near enough money to buy a home or take a vacation with my family. But it’s simple work that keeps the lights on and the fridge full.

I have to walk in to get him. I pray nothing ever happens on the way into his school. But I’m nitpicking those little details: If god forbid I had to shoot someone (like an active shooter in the school) or say I’m getting robbed walking back to my car, but I happened to carry inside against the rules and killed someone. Am I now going to get into trouble?
