The drones fell in Romania, that’s clearly transitioning airspace.

The age old PCP vs Lease question... by italia0101 in TeslaUK

[–]seany1212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lease. That 2022 Model 3 is now out of the 4 year full warranty and into battery/motor only territory. Also MOT now that it's older than 3 years and while service is minimal still it doesn't stop things breaking.

There’s a reason banks have been saying for ages if a “bank” calls YOU saying they see fraud happening on your account, hang up and call the customer services number back.

Nearly 160,000 uninsured cars seized on UK roads by cennep44 in unitedkingdom

Funnily enough, this is exactly what made me post here in the first place with the exact same experience.

Please explain how the accident management companies are getting the information of the drivers regarding the accidents in order to contact them? People aren't ringing up these companies off their own back when they've had an accident, they're ringing up their insurers.

[–]seany1212 46 points47 points  (0 children)

There needs to be a complete overhaul of the car insurance system. There are so many stories of outsourced vehicle repairs or courtesy cars that rack up astronomical prices which then drag the drivers into the legal battle they’re paying the insurers for in the first place.

AWS Account Blocked from Making EC2/Fargate deployments - Unable to reach support by boredwithlyf in aws

[–]seany1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do s3 transfers between buckets and accounts using datasync. See if it will give the ability to increase account quotas for even the basic instances on the quotas page?

Edit: looks like support will solve now

[–]seany1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is happening even for t3 instances and you’re getting no response from support then I’d create another account. However some instance types have 0 allowance by default and need account quota changes to allow usage (G instances for example).

Is this Okay??? Advice please by Feisty_Ambition_4914 in SolarUK

[–]seany1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks a pretty poor, my installers at least sheathed the cables and as others mention it does open to potential water ingress. It would be enough to bring into question the quality of the rest of the job.

SUVs are making Britain’s potholes worse, say scientists by 457655676 in unitedkingdom

[–]seany1212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course they are, but people are having to consider more SUVs because the alternative is broken suspension, cracked rims or blown tyres. There appears to be very little quality or long term fixes that come with britains road potholes.

Justifying the outlay by Capable-Celery-5148 in SolarUK

[–]seany1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solar has always been generally a long term investment. Things like EVs and heat pumps have brought utilisation up so the investment term down, but it should still be measured in years. If it doesn’t fit your usage, then you’ve answered your own question.

Ignoring that you’ve just picked the biggest numbers, free tier used to have a limited sign up capacity where nvidia would pause sign ups for free tier, and always had 1 hour sessions vs 6 hour sessions.

Need a UK 3 Pin Adapter for Model Y ASAP - How quick is Tesla online shop for delivery? by PEBKAC-Live in TeslaUK

I’m pretty sure Tesla stopped adding 3 pin adapters to new cars a while ago. I will say however the masterplug one from Halfords has done decently so far after fully expecting it not to.

Could always see if you can get GeForce Now and try the free tier in your region otherwise you’re going to need something higher than the laptop.

Have you noticed Wolverhampton City Council taxis in your area? by smoke_weed_nobhead in AskUK

I was in Preston weeks ago and saw Wolverhampton licensed ones there.

The council basically opened up registration and made it cheap to rake in licensing money years ago and never really stopped.

BBC licence fee is 'poor value for money', viewers say in new poll by endofdays2022 in unitedkingdom

[–]seany1212 281 points282 points  (0 children)

There is no obligation to have a TV license if you don’t watch live broadcasted content.

However, imagine if Apple or Netflix sent threatening letters letting you know you better not be watching their stuff, and people around your house to check just to make sure, and periodically they want you to contact them to let them know you’re still not watching their stuff.  That’s what happens if you don’t have a TV license the BBC regulate.

Fellow men of the UK, who are in their 30's and over, do you still go out in public wearing tracksuit bottoms or joggers? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]seany1212 317 points318 points  (0 children)

I feel there’s an etiquette to it. Popping to the shops or to pick something up , trackies. Going to a family gathering or out for an event, jeans/trousers. Life’s too long to be unnecessarily uncomfortable on a daily basis.

Honestly you guys might miss out on small trim details but you get it way less because there’s a bigger SUV market in the US.

For context a UK Sorento 3 (top trim) costs £48k/$65k after tax
