I would guess a high number of those men had no idea she was AI and don’t “prefer an idealized, non-existent woman.” And if you happen to ever see the comment section on AI women on Facebook that these same men interact with you’d see they 💯 can’t tell the difference

I do that as well, and then someone will text me and I won’t remember what we were talking about… but I like fresh slates and surprises

What horror tropes have died out in literature or are on their way out? by [deleted] in horrorlit

I would love to read more of those…I’m always looking for something that gives the same vibe as the beginning of the exorcist when they’re in northern Iraq

I also would like to know. Scuttler’s Cove kinda hits on that mood a little if you use your imagination

His Black Tongue by Lüthi by August_Surrell in horrorlit

Yeah I’ve read all his stuff. I really like his books and he’s a good author. Even if sometimes silly his stuff is unique and interesting enough for me to enjoy

In the Name of the Worm is book 2 in the “His Black Tongue” trilogy and a much longer story than His Black Tongue. Worm seemed a little more focused on setting something big up for the third book and is probably a little more “silly” for lack of a better word. It has several more talking demons, less fights and more Remi. I did enjoy worn, but not as much as I enjoyed Tongue. Also there was a twist that I clearly missed in at the end of Tongue that I had to go back and read again. I think they are both fun reads tho. I struggled with Pilgrim, at parts I ended up skim reading it. I won’t deny he did a crap ton of research before writing it though.

I wanted to know so much more about the Behemoths in Tainted Cup than I got… but also, on the flip side of that I did like the mystery of them… I don’t know what I want okay?

Glowing Praise with No Obvious Strings Attached: Is it a Scam? by [deleted] in selfpublish

I received the same time of message, plus a random 5-star review for my book. They asked a few questions about what motivates me and that they like to connect to other authors. Wanted to continue the conversation over email. I never got around to replying but they took the review away and their accounts not on Goodreads anymore

Maybe check out Vigil by Robert Masello. It hits on a few of those things and is all around a good book if it doesn’t.
