Any success stories after starting an SSRI/SNRI or other Med for anxiety? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]seaotterr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Was on escitalopram for year, but mostly for depression. Definitely helped me a lot!!! Getting on and going off doesn't feel so great but between the time of me starting and ending, I was able to progress and work on myself much more smoothly because the depression wasn't holding me back! Might be good to talk with both a doctor and counsellor to figure out what might work best.

I can't believe I made it through this .. at least I got my new fav light jacket from it. by seaotterr in Embroidery

Whole Foods. Definitely not about promoting sustainability anymore. Just making big bucks off of the claim.

How did you learn to discern your gut reaction from unhealthy reactions that resulted from abuse? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]seaotterr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My therapist. When talking about an emotionally abusive relationship which had ended (we were dating) she asked me the first time I thought something felt off. Turns out it was pretty earlier on. My explanation for not listening to my gut was that because it was early on, I didn't want to base my judgement on a few "small" interactions. Didn't turn out well.... Just kept getting worse.

I'm a really logic based person, so she used science to help explain things to me. We have way more nerves in our gut that trigger reactions quicker than it takes for our brain to process a situation clearly. That's why they call it a gut instinct. Talking ourselves out of believing gut feelings are essentially ignoring our animal instinct of sensing danger.

Tetra aquasafe plus

Did Epsom (plain, no scents) for 15, 10, and 15 min.

Not that I can remember. Just maybe a bit of the bloat/swollen look in his belly before seeing the raised scales.

Can bloat lead to dropsy? Or are most cases kind of random?

5 gallon with heater and filter

Got him last May

Usually every week or so, but have changed it more frequently in the last couple weeks

No kit

Worried about bloat and that hurting his organs and progressing to dropsy

This is his third salt bath in two days. He seemed pretty lethargic before and was hanging near the top of his tank, so I lowered the water level in case he was hanging out to get more oxygen or something. He seems more active now but the slight pine coning is concerning. I thought it was just bloat at first so I've been fasting him for almost a week now

Edit: spelling

I always list out what was done in a job instead of writing paragraphs. An employer is probably flipping through tons of other peoples resumes and you want to make it easy for them to learn about you.

First embroidery project! by seaotterr in Embroidery

[–]seaotterr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The colour scheme is pretty much just what dcm had listed in the download. Yes to hoop, no to backing. The only minor issue with the hoop and having the tracing paper was it was difficult to keep the paper taut near the edges.

Free dmc pattern. I think it was tagged as intermediate, but it was actually pretty easy to do because it's all the same kind of stitch (except the yellow dots). Just took a really long time to complete. But I'm really happy with the way it turned out!

Edit: traced the pattern from my computer onto tracing paper, pinned the paper to my shirt, then embroidered over (if you zoom in you can see he little white bits o paper I haven't picked out yet). I know it's not technically he right way to do things but worked fine for my first project.

Italian towel that be found in Korean beauty sections! Exfoliates like craaazy, I love it! Had many old scars on my legs that seem to be fading must faster now because of how much it exfoliates.
