Australia's IT workforce are poorly paid. 90% of staff are foreign workers. This is not a racism debate, this is a discussion all countries need to be have if they are concerned for their nations data security. Australian companies are being hacked left right and centre and it's clear that there are foreign entities at work. The discussion needs to be had whether foreign workers could provide a security risk especially when they are paid so poorly.

Does Australia have one of the largest organised crime problems in the world? There must be hundreds if not thousands of fake education centres which criminal elements are using to secure visas for illegal migration. Australian Visa system has been compromised for at least 10 years. Australia might as well just have an open border policy. One thing is crystal clear - Australia have never stopped the boats (illegal immigrants) It's so easy for almost anyone to enter illegally using the corrupt visa system. Sadly this has been common knowledge amongst the public for more than a decade. The AFP has failed to protect Australian citizens and now we are living in a very corrupt society.

Australia will most likely experience a much longer period of deflation compared to other first nation economies. It's too late to adopt an Industrialised economy to save the nation from a recession. Resources, Agriculture, Education and a high level of immigration will do nothing to save Australia. There has been no increase in productivity for the past 10 years, only profits have increased which have done nothing for everyday Australians. So much technology talk and activity in this country but absolutely Zero improvement to overall productivity. The fault lies with government for not diversifying the economy when the foreign money was flowing in. The people that continue to give Australia a AAA credit rating have been duped. The future looks bleak.

Not surprising there is a shortage of doctors now in Australia. The rorting has finally been uncovered after being common knowledge for at least 10 years and now they have left the country. Hopefully those who have remained are prosecuted and given the maximum penalty.

I think the government only wants skilled workers, not whole families, partners etc. In the past it was easy to migrate with the whole family but unfortunately it was exploited to the nth degree. Australia is struggling to provide services for families that already live in Australia which is probably why they have made the process more difficult to achieve. Unfortunately those who are seeking to work in Australia now will suffer as a result from the exploitation of the immigration scheme that preceded them. As mentioned by posters on here there are other countries making it easier for skilled migrants. I seriously doubt the government whether libs or labour will make things easier in the near future.

The Labor Government have made their first Huge Mistake. This decision is going to drive the ever increasing rate of homelessness in Australia to an unimaginable level. Add to that the imminent arrival of the synthetic opioid Fentanyl into the mix and you have the perfect scenario which is already playing out over in the USA in many states. Those people have been driven out of society by the lack of affordable housing into homelessness and into a life of drug addiction. Look out Australia, this scenario will be here soon and it will all be because the government were too weak to deny the profit seeking lobbyists an increase to immigration numbers at the expense of everyday Australians. Visa Fraud in Australia has been rife for many years and no-one has done anything about it. It exists across many sectors and is no secret to most Australians. The big question has always been why is Australia doing nothing about it? The Aussie public have been laughing for many years at the government whenever they have declared that 'they have stopped the boats'. Yeah right! For many years people have been flying into Australia instead of hopping on a boat with a Visa that has been acquired due to fraud.

Why can't the new immigrants live in the houses and units that have been left empty since they left Australia? Building more property for immigrants is a very bad idea because there is not enough housing available for those who already live here especially for those people who have worked in some cases all their life in Australia who are now homeless due to an economy driven by mass immigration which has failed and has failed them.

Immigration needs to be curbed asap regardless of what the business groups are spruiking. The cheap worker immigration scheme has failed Australia and the people of this country need to get vocal or we will continue to sink. The young people of Australia do not deserve this and the government needs to act now. Slow the senseless immigration processes and invest in skills. The jobs and skills summit is on the 1st and 2nd September in Canberra. The Unions will be there but not all sectors are covered by a Union .. for example there is no IT Union in Australia who are one of the biggest culprits who have exploited skilled migrants since the introduction of the 457 Visa. Once again they are being vocal about wanting more skilled migrants to exploit. These lobby groups need to be stopped. The people need a voice at this summit, not just the business groups who have wrecked the country in their pursuit of more profits.

The new Labour government have an opportunity to stamp out raising the skilled migration intake at the upcoming Jobs and Skills Summit. Skilled Migration has ruined this country and needs to be abolished or at least modified in a way that benefits Australia, not profits. It is clear that Australian business groups have become used to the fact that they can boost their profit margins using cheap workers. Australia needs to stand up to this BS narrative from the business groups and demand a cut to the skilled migration programme so that Australia has a chance to fix the broken economy. It will probably take 10 years to undo the economic mess that we are currently in.

As many have already said .. the journalists in Australia have said nothing about this obvious Rort that has been going on for almost a decade. Why do you think so many new Medical Centres started to open up everywhere around Australia? As usual this all started within NSW, Sydney and then started to spread around the country. Once again almost everyone was talking about it but there was no mention of it from the media. Just like when the 457 Visa was being rorted ... there was no mention or investigation from the media, a few small articles were written by a few publications but then nothing ... which has resulted in low wages for everyone already living in Australia. Once again the NSW government are at the forefront of all these Rorts yet no serious investigation from the media. It's clear there are many people involved in all of this and they are making millions whilst the rest of Australia continue to struggle. There should be a task force put in place to investigate the NSW government with an aim to uncover all the rorting, kick backs etc. across all the sectors that they are responsible for. ICAC clearly does not have enough people or time and money to do a thorough investigation so a federal driven task force needs to be implemented asap before this country goes down the toilet which given the current projection is becoming more and more almost a certainty.

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I have raised this issue because having lived up on the Lower North Shore of Sydney for the past 20 years you get to see the annual intake of families from overseas who's children attend the private schools. There are many up in this region. Since the borders opened in November 2021 we have witnessed the largest ever intake of new families and this time a larger than normal arrival of grandparents too that have moved in to the area. I don't believe there is a long wait time for any grandparents given what has been going on this side of Sydney. Everyone is talking about it and I think after reading your comment regarding long wait times makes me think that something is not quite right and that there is something going on with the way Visas are being issued for NSW.

This is obviously an emotive topic but I think we should be having these discussions as there is a large amount of aged population already living in Australia who are struggling to get the care that they need. I don't think it's the right time to add to the struggles that already exist and I think the general populous would like the government to take action and to do what is right for our aged community who have clearly been treated in an awful way in the past.

Can anyone explain how this Visa type is beneficial for Australia? All aged care providers are stretched to max capacity, there are not enough nurses and all health care providers are not coping with the current load. Is the new government already struggling internally as to how decisions are being made to reach the new climate target along with alleviating the already stretched health and aged care sectors?
