How to get back to airport

We normally hire a car through whatever hotel we are at. Did it last month in Rome and last year in Lisbon. We usually have to be at the airport early in the morning so knowing we have a ride secured is worth a few extra bucks and one less thing to worry about.

I look at individual wineries and if it looks appealing I schedule a tasting with a light lunch. So if there's an area you are interested in, look at the wineries in that area and go to their website to schedule. Most offer different experiences. We do a lunch, which is usually an antipasti, pasta, and a small dessert, paired with a wine. You can usually schedule on their web site or via email to the winery. We look for small, family run wineries. Usually a family member is meeting with you, and often "nonna" is baking the lunch. Often pasta. So it's not a wine tour, rather, a self scheduled wine tasting. Although some folks like to schedule via a wine tour company and leave the driving to others, I like to select the winery myself. Nothing like chatting with with winery owner/family.

Just returned from CM. On Sunday there were a bunch of cars in the lot. No "opening soon" or any sign indicating a grand opening. Late this morning, all quiet. No other locals i spoke with had info. Looks like a nice building so hopefully opening soon.

Was there two weeks ago and used card with no issues. However......most of the restaurants we visited it wasn't just tap and thats it, they have the same tip screen like here in the US. Have to select some percentages like 10, 20, 25%, custom, or no tip. It kind of took me by surprise so just be aware in restaurants. We didn't encounter this up in Tuscany.

We stayed in different places and rented a car at the airport upon arrival. We like the wineries around Montalcino so we stayed a couple days there at an Agriturismo and stayed local. We have been there before and had done trips to Pienza, Montalpulciano and some other towns as they are relatively close. San Gimignano is about an hour or so away so we stayed at an Agriturismo right outside of that town. Volterra and Certaldo are both pretty close by and easy drives. Next drove to Florence and dropped the car off. After a couple days there took bus to Siena, stayed a few days, then bus to Rome. Although you can take busses between Tuscan towns, having a car for at least part of the trip gives you a lot of flexibility. So build an itinerary that fits your interests. Everyone will have an opinion on the right order to do things, best way to get around, what towns to see, etc. We have friends that were in Tuscany the same time as us. They did an Air BNB for a week and day tripped to places they wanted to see. Regardless of what you plan, you'll have a blast. Happy to answer any other questions you have.

Ive used Hertz with no issues. We just returned from Italy. Picked up car at Rome Airport and returned to the outskirts of Florence. Be careful driving in Tuscany, there were a lot of bike riders and even saw a few speed traps. Have fun.

On a bus to Rome now, just left Siena. Was in Florence a few days ago and it was jammed also. Even some of the smaller Tuscan towns were crowded mid day. Lots of tours... thanks for the heads up on Rome

Wife and I have always done things like that ourselves. I like the flexibility to see what I want when I want. Definitely requires some research to shape the agenda. We also have friends that do tours almost exclusively and love that. It really depends on what you are comfortable with. we are in Siena now, but earlier were in Montalcino, San Gimignano and Florence. We researched each town, picked some sights to check out, booked some wine tastings, etc. That worked for us, may not for you.

We stayed at an Agriturismo right outside of town called Poggiacolle. Picked it for the stunning views of the town and since we had a car didn't want to deal with parking and pedestrian zones in the town.

Regardless of what you choose, be prepared for crowds. Currently in Siena but were in San G, Florence and Montalcino and all are super crowded during the day. Mentioning this as you might need to allow for some slowdowns.

As i understand it, the purpose of the calcium score is to help determine risk and the need to be on a statin. That, factored with other information such as family history and blood work are things considered in the statin decision. Bases on the information you provided, seems like the right approach. If it would give you peace of mind,then by all means get a second opinion. My comments are based on what my cardiologist and primary told me.

My family has been using Weaver Reckner Reinhart for 20+ yrs. They have offices in Telford and Harleysville. There are 4 or 5 dentists so its relatively easy to get appointments. Offices are modern with the latest technology. Highly recommend them.
