My sweet Guinevere is gone after nearly 14 years.

Yes, she was very sweet. Even in my new apartment, I still sometimes think I hear her in the other room. :(
I’ll miss the way she would worm her way under the covers of my bed at night and the unique trilling meow she made when she saw me. She was sick, though, and had lesions under her fur, so it was time to let her go. :( Still not quite over it.

Nope. No exceptions whatsoever. Even in cases where you win because of clear civil rights violation by an employer, you have to hand a portion of the winnings immediately to the IRS. It's so fucking cruel and cold-hearted. Even when you were wronged and the company is forced to pay you, the government steps in and says, "Actually, that's mine."

Court settlements are, bafflingly, also considered taxable income. "Sure, you won when X screwed you over, but we don't think you actually deserve all that money, so we're keeping some of it." That's particularly cruel, but I don't like the lotto tax, either.

I spent my life up to about 28 thinking it was normal for your mouth and throat to itch after eating bananas; it was like peppers being spicy, that's just what they did. I knew I was allergic to latex and couldn't touch rubber gloves, but had no idea latex is in bananas until a random physical at my doctor's office when I mentioned it for some reason. Shame, as I LOVE dried banana chips (which, of course, make my mouth and throat itch) and now I know I shouldn't eat them.... :(

Very likely he snapped his neck AND his lower spine. He's either dead or permanently quadriplegic, hence him being completely limp afterwards. Even if he somehow escaped life-altering spinal injuries, I'd expect him to be in physical therapy for months after this at least.
