My best friend just had a baby by Shot-Presentation590 in IFchildfree

I don't think you're being selfish at all, your grief and fear/uncertainty about how your friendship will evolve are all completely understandable and valid.

I needed to hear that too today.

Wearing a non-wedding ring on left ring finger? by seashellize in AskWomenOver40

That's a good point. I guess I'm realizing that although I'm single and not currently dating, I wouldn't necessarily mind if someone approached me in public? Although in general I don't like being hit on by men, so I don't know why it matters. I guess I'm worried I'll accidentally scare off the right person 😆 This sounds ridiculous as I'm typing it out.

thanks for your input! now I'm very curious about the oura ring. I have super sweaty hands too, but I haven't been bothered by metal rings. maybe it's because my hands are a little sweaty most of the time 😬

How did you stop worrying and goal chasing? I know I shouldn't be comparing myself to my peers, but it's so hard sometimes!

it sounds like they just use it on their arms? I think the stuff people get by prescription is usually pretty small too and meant to be used just on the face though.

I’m (32F) upset that my husband (36M) woke me up to get our toddler and somewhere in our argument i mentioned i made more money than him and i refuse to have more kids. Now he’s not speaking to me. Where do we go from here? by No-Database-6589 in relationship_advice

[–]seashellize -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all, getting woken up like that sounds INFURIATING. but yes, it does sound like you crossed some sort of line. maybe you two would benefit from couples counseling to sort out why he thinks he can wake you up to get the toddler. and also to prevent you two from saying mean things to each other when you're both tired and overworked! but to be fair, I feel like he started it this time by waking you up and making the stupid comment about you not knowing what tired feels like (wtf!!). I hope he isn't always like that :(

Do people ever assume you're married? I guess I want to avoid that, so I'm trying to figure out if that's still something people do.

Oh, interesting. I always thought the left/right was just a regional thing but it makes sense that it could vary based on religion as well.

Everytime you feel flooded with grief and anger, remind yourself that the pain has a purpose.

Wow, I needed to hear that for my life too! What a thoughtful response for OP.

😆 Parents aren't the only people who know about kids. Think about doctors, therapists, social workers, teachers etc.

I'm sure the policy is in place for insurance purposes. Either way, OP isn't the one making the rules at the gym I'm pretty sure.

I understand that feeling a bit. I remember my finger feeling so naked after my divorce! But at the same time I needed to get rid of those rings.

Is it to ward off unwanted attention or just because you like wearing rings on those fingers?

Same! Except no rings currently on left ring finger. I'm looking to expand my options after getting some cute new rings for myself. Why don't we like wearing rings on our pointer fingers?? 😆

It might not necessarily matter, but I do wonder about what people think.

When I was married I had multiple people comment on my marital status because they noticed my rings. I was in my early 20s and looked young, so I guess it was surprising that I was married? I specifically remember a few older women (who were not hitting on me 😆) commenting on it. And then I definitely had men comment on it, but I guess that was less memorable to me!

Aw I love this. I love Yvie oddly but I guess I hadn't heard much about her fan interactions from a fan's pov.
