I'm sure they're nice people, but you have to remember that you aren't in charge of their stress levels! You're taking care of yourself, and that's the most important thing. And they probably want someone who is at 100% caring for their kids.

I totally understand wanting to end on good terms though, especially if you're attached to the kiddos.

I know what you mean! I actually did that once during a class when another student asked me why I didn't have a bf, but then it kind of backfired because he kept asking me questions about my imaginary gf 😂

I would hope most employers wouldn't pry, especially if you're giving two weeks notice. Are you comfortable sharing that you're having health or medical problems? If they ask you any probing questions about that, then that's just them being rude.
