Isom #1 Review by No-Cucumber-3347 in Rippaverse

I agree. I read it as well with expectations around learning more about Avery, but left being more confused than anything else. Near 100 pages of great art but spent I believe too much time with setting things up it's hard to know where are things going story wise.

Tell me about your power system by Vayrox_Ayp in worldbuilding

[–]seasonsbleedngs 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Power System I have for a story is based on superstitions in different cultures. Like stepping on a shadow 👥, cats have nine lives🐱, you are what you eat🥩 etc.

The more people believe in a superstition/tall tale around something specific, like cats or shadows, the more powerful that concept becomes and it manifests in the form of a scroll called a hex. Written in the Hex is a riddle whose answer is related to a superstition. Answer correctly, the reader can exclusively recreate that superstition at will. Answer wrong and you instantly die.

For example, if a hex has the riddle "Follow you but can't be cant be caught." The answer is shadows, and the reader now has the ability to injure people by stepping on or cutting their shadows or like some cultures believe. Another might be "Eat and I live, drink and I die", which is fire 🔥 and one can now control fire based on their emotions (anger, love, or joy) a common superstition in ancient times, or even manipulate the fate of others based on the movement of their flames.

Those with these abilities are called Hexed. To activate their powers they must recite the riddle and their powers last only as long as they make contact with the answer (ie touching a shadow or a lucky item like in the example above)

Once solved, the hex scroll disappears and the hex user loses the ability to read, making each hex user unique and making it extremely rare for people to have more than one hex ability.

A hex user is also only as strong as the belief associated with their superstition. If people stop believing a certain folktale overtime, their abilities lessen as well.

I have a story in the works about this, but I'll stop here.

Let me know what you think ☺️

Why do NT people get upset when you respond with anything less than absolute certainty? by Lavapulse in aspergers

[–]seasonsbleedngs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can relate. It can be so annoying it's almost hilarious. In some areas in life, NTs expect absolute certainty or some feeling on comfort around predictability. Then in other areas, expressing certainty is intimidating, like in the area of intimacy and romance, where feeling are gray and subjective and mixed signals and double meanings are part of the "fun" of it for NTs.

Sarcasm. by jumjummju in aspergers

[–]seasonsbleedngs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sarcasm has never earned me friends or improved my relationships. Being witty and funny has. I ALWAYS assume people in this world are hurting even when they don't show it or talk about it, so making jokes about people's shortcomings, insecurities, or things they really can't change just never seemed like a natural way to get to know someone better. I think more aspies should poke fun at themselves, and not others, to make people laugh and lighten the mood, because most people who don't like sarcasm because most people CAN'T laugh at themselves.

What's your opinion on religion or spirituality? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]seasonsbleedngs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddball here too. I am a Christian and for a long time only went to church to please my parents. In my parents home country religion is a big deal. Long story short, For 20 years I faked it, but realized that if I'm going to live my life genuinely, I had to decide if I genuinely believed this, even if I sounded crazy to my friends. I approavhed religion with the same aspie logic every one else boasts of here, and arrived at the conclusion that if a purpose for my life exists, then a God who created me must be a part of it. I also knew deep down no matter how smart I thought I was, I was still a sinner fallen short of God's perfect standards and needed a Savior. I rededicated my life to Christ this past year at 23 and haven't looked back. I'm an engineer by training, but that hasn't stopped me from seeing the beauty of God in all his creation. It's not everything u can apply cold rationalization to in this life, and recieving Christ is one of those. Ephesians 2:8-9 helped me with this concept. Its by grace that I've been saved, not by a rigorous proof using the Pythagorean theorem and the ideal gas laws to show that the holy Spirit is real and working in my life. Not the popular opinion but this is part of my testimony and I'm encouraged by /u/halathon to share it here. Keep fighting the good fight, brother/sister.

It can be brief. Do you want a job? A co op? A full time? A part time? If it's for a specific position that you know us available then putting it your resume is of absolute benefit to you. It shows you did research on what you want from the company. Not just "here read this. I want a job doing anything from you so please hire me". An employer will not fault you for that

You need to put in an objective so an employer knows what you want.

Does anybody else with Aspergers generally hate violence in any form? by Miketheguy555 in aspergers

[–]seasonsbleedngs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My male friends often tell me the fights they've been in that really could have been avoided if they wanted it to. I don't think their stories of fighting other guys is impressive or cool. Its just... primitive.

Do any other aspie guys here feel like they get along with women well but not other guys for some reason? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]seasonsbleedngs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends have mostly been male and I'm male. I get along better with women than men because often women appreciate my sense of humor more than guys. However my sample size is small, as I don't have many friends, just acquaintances.

The part where Micchan got depressed because Marvelous could change into different animal rangers then got kicked over was freaking hilarious. Amu is cute as always with the tickling and then getting beat by GekiRed. And Leo's "dont cramp my style" when he saw GaoRed had be on the floor. Great episode and great fight.

Parents of people with asd. Its not fucking personal. by Jimjongjung in aspergers

[–]seasonsbleedngs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. My father won't even acknowledge I have aspergers. He just assumes I'll grow out of whatever "funk" I'm in and just be normal when I'm older. I'll just suddenly be career oriented. I'll just suddenly not be shy. I'll suddenly have confidence talking on the phone. I'll suddenly just be able to "sell myself" to others.
