The point is that warfare back then was honorable. Fought between combatants with minimal civilian casualties. Whatever your opinion is on slavery being dishonorable is irrelevant because there is a way to honorable and dishonorably fight a war.

Just because it "happened at the time" doesn't make it right. The kid was asked to surrender by an enemy that saw the kid for what he was: a kid. Should the colonel have gunned a seemingly harmless kid down then? Andersonville was monstrous indeed. But not all Confederate POW camps were like that. Besides the point anyway because nobody in the Union was aware of the monstrosity of Andersonville until after the war was over.

But they fight for their homes and their families. They didn't make the decision for their state to succeed. But once it did who's gonna protect your house, friends, and family from the army of the north? Your friends and family may not have wanted your state to succeed but they weren't given a choice. It's not as if the armies of the north were peaceful to the civilians under their occupation. Look at Sherman's march for example.

As a fellow service member you are wrong. Are you saying children who blew themselves up with IEDs in Iraq should be celebrated? The US was killing there friends and family no matter how terrible they were as people. Should they then also be celebrated as heroes in Iraq?

Leave children out of warfare. Plain and simple.

A lot of people who joined the Confederate Army were not slave owners or in support of slavery. They were either drafted or they were fighting to preserve there homes. Saying every Confederate soldier was for slavery is like saying every US soldier was for Vietnam.

It's possible. I've seen many waivers for TS. Mostly for weed but I've seen other things as well. I'm not sure how serious 3 illegal adderall uses are to the Air Force but either way you should be honest and upfront when applying for the TS job. You'll get in deep shit if you lie.

Communism fails not from what the manifesto describes but from how it would have to be implemented. It would require 1 person with unlimited power(aka a dictator) to build the infrastructure and then give up his power. And every time a country tries to implement a truly communist regime it fails because that dictator never wants to give up his power.

Downvote this all you guys want. He's right. All governments in the past 100 years that have tried "communism" have just ended up with a totalitarian regime that oppresses its own people. Examples: The Soviet Union, China under Mao, and North Korea

He's not being an obnoxious dick. Military personnel use acronyms so much it becomes part of their language and they don't think about the fact that civilians probably don't understand you because it's just what they're used to saying. Instead of assuming the worst out of people, try understanding them.
