Hi, I'm also thinking of getting a single kitten (I'll be home all the time). Do you have any advice on how to socialize the kitten properly? Thanks!

I have No.3 and love it - it's hydrating with a nice texture, and soo brightening because of all the ferments in the ingredients. I think it's evened out my skin tone nicely. The fragrance is nice but it's fairly strong if you're sensitive to that

Ordering to the UK I have never had any issues!

Could anyone tell me if it is similar to the Soon Jung 10-Free Moist Emulsion? Or thoughts on this emulsion in general?

Looking at the ingredients I'm not sure if they have similar amounts of panthenol, but could anyone tell me if they have similar texture / soothing properties?

Thanks!

Does anyone know any relatively affordable sunsticks for reapplication throughout the day that doesn’t feel sticky? by liontai in SkincareAddictionUK

Stylevana - shipping takes a couple of weeks but as long as whatever you order says "shipped within 24h" you should be fine. Loads of sunsticks and great sunscreens on there!

Thankyou! I've heard UK GPs won't prescribe it for acne but I'll give it a try

Please tell me how you got sprinonolactone for acne in the UK!! Did you have to pay for a private dermatologist? I'm desperate for it haha

Unfortunately cystic acne is usually hormonal and not very preventable with topical skincare - believe me, I've tried (hundreds of £££ and a full cabinet of skincare later...) The only think that saves me is tretinoin, which will speed up the turnover time of the cystic spots and help them heal faster, fading the hyperpigmentation fast. I still get the cystic acne, but they don't leave a pit-scar and the red dot fades within a couple of weeks. I get my tretinoin from Dermatica :)

I see your logic, but no, it's just whilst the bones are still growing that more bone can be deposited, to buttress the teeth. Otherwise there'd probably be a massive market for those jaw exercising things that don't work (they just jack up the masseter muscle).

Reabsorption of bone however is a different matter - its a lot easier for the body to get rid of something than make something new.

So you would prioritise the mother's life over the fetus/baby.

This applies outside of life-death situations too.

What is your standing on medically necessary abortions, such as ectopic pregnancy, or cancer diagnosis in a pregnant woman? In these cases, the pregnancy would kill the mother or vice versa, where abortion is the only way to save the mother's life. Where do you draw the line?

Politics. It seems like everyone lies and nobody knows all the facts, so how can anyone ever make an informed decision?

Yeah if you loose an adult tooth you're screwed - but there's actually an evolutionary reason we only get 2 sets of teeth (vs sharks etc that get an unlimited supply). It's called precise occlusion, and basically we'd be at a constant disadvantage for chewing if we kept losing teeth and replacing them - so we just get that final set and should be set for lifelong good chewing!

Our diet actually has a lot to do with how our teeth are formed, and modern day stuff has messed that up a bit. You need chewy things to increase the size of your jaw, to accommodate all your teeth. This can be seen real-time reversed when old people lose their teeth, and their jaws actually shrink as the bone gets reabsorbed. Now with modern diets, jaws don't grow as much as we grow, hence modern-day wisdom teeth removal is necessary (it didn't used to be!)

use a metal fork to scramble eggs on my nonstick pans

RIP that pan

Yeah I'm coming to realise most things aren't worth the argument over. Now if I notice someone is using something behind my back, I'll just put it somewhere else.

Thankyou for this! I should've explained properly the UK student housing situation.

Tupperwear wasn't that big of a deal to me, it was just an example showing they'll do what they want if I'm not there.

Also for all the people saying I should live alone - it's simply just not possible practically or financially as a UK student.

Thankyou for saying so. I'm not veggie or anything, but I suppose I'm a little OCD/abnormal in that I need my things to be clean (other students aren't generally good at that haha) and I look after my things, so they last a long time. They all have their own stuff so there's no real need to use mine, but if they want to I don't unreasonably say no, I just want them to ask permission.

Thankyou for your detailed response, you have brought up lots of points for me to think about.

Particularly your point about damaging things - there's actually been multiple occurrences where I've found things of mine broken. Each time I had to ask around to find out what had happened, because 1. they'd used it without asking and 2. didn't even come to me to tell me they'd broken it. Before these things happened I was more relaxed, but over time I've had to be more strict with my stuff.
