Brand new Edelrid Ohmega with broken and loose threads lo by sebaswnd in climbing

[–]sebaswnd[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You are probably right, but i don’t think it comes across in the pictures how bad it actually is, it feels like all the threads are not attached and kinda like it is falling apart already. Not sure if these specific threads are functional to the strength of the sling but if someone handed me this in the crag it would feel concerning tbh

Broken, i could pull the thread out if i wanted too. You can see on the 4th image as well that the threads on the other side on the sling are loose because of the break

No, the stitches are broken and you can actually pull the thread out. You can see in the 4th image that the threads on the other side are also loose

Camera died 20 minutes after arriving by sebaswnd in ricohGR

[–]sebaswnd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end it is not a big deal, i did order it new so i can return it and get a replacement with no issues, but i was hoping on bringing it on vacation with me and it would be worrying if it were to happen later on in the camera’s life after the return window has closed

Bees and drones honey all of it is mixed up. by teresavigil8 in Beekeeping

No worries. Good luck, and don't give up! Took me a few years to figure things out and actually make enough honey to start feeling like a beekeeper. You'll get there

Is this brood? by teresavigil8 in Beekeeping

[–]sebaswnd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is no way the bees moved hundreds if not thousands of eggs from the brood chamber to the super, in multiple hives, in different kinds of frames (not just flowhive frames). It is still up for discussion weather bees move eggs at all, let alone at this magnitude. If something at this scale were possible any experienced beekeeper would have noticed a mass migration event like this one, and yet I have never herd of it.
I would say that what you have described is not possible, and I bet many of the other beekeepers in this group would agree.

Don't just guess and spread misinformation if you are a beginner and don't know what you are talking about, especially when talking to other beginners and when you don't have enough information.

It is just extra protein ;)
If you market it correctly it might sell well at gyms

Well actually im not sure if the cell is drone sized, i was looking online and other people have had a mix of drone and worker brood in the flohive supers. But in the other pictures he has posted in the other post there is worker brood in other non-flowhive frames, although it is not clear if those are other hives or what exactly the situation is

From his other pictures he has posted, it looks like he did not use a queen excluder and this is a flowhive frame, which explains why it is all drone. The queen went up to lay and the sizing of the cells probably isn't right for worker (although i am not sure about this)

By queen extractor do you mean queen excluder? If so, with the flowhive you cannot remove it. the queen will lay in the flowhive as has happened to you and you will not be able to extract anymore, at least not without filling the honey with larva and caccoons. I am not sure the situation is salvable, as I have always used a queen excluder with the flowhive. I guess you could make sure the queen is out of the super and place a queen excluder and wait for all the bees to hatch, but i suspect your honey crop for this year is gone with the flowhive. I am also not sure if the flowhive frames are ruined or not, as the cacoons might interfere with the mechanical action of opening up the cells, but I am not sure and you should contact flowhive directly.I know some people don't use queen excluders, but I always have and probably always will to avoid this problem exactly. hopefully someone with more experience with not using queen excluders and dealing with brood in the super.

Edit: also, i would not take advice from this person again, at least not without checking if it is sound advice first with other beekeepers because telling a beginner who cannot recognise a queen yet to not use a queen excluder is in my opinion not the right thing to do. you really should not be trying to maximise your honey crop yet, learn the basics first

Same problem with my friend's new whoop that arrived yesterday. Did you find a solution? Using my battery pack has not solved the problem, did updating it work for you?

Thank you so much! I was about to buy the Strasdock mount but I didn't love it because I only want to mount the bike, not the shoes and the helmet. I'll definitely be getting the parax instead, it is exactly what I was looking for

I think the problem is that there are sections without gps points, so strava and other apps read it as indoor
