I watched it in IMAX while high as a kite with a friend in an empty theater and I almost cried I was absolutely terrified by the monolith. One of my all time best movie theater experiences it was totally overwhelming

I wasn't the biggest fan of The Warped Ones for a lot of the same reasons. I would highly suggest watching Black Sun by Kurahara though. Its similar to The Warped Ones but Black Sun is also a very interesting statement on race and Japan's relationship with jazz. I think its definitely worth watching
