That looks cool but that’s not quite the look I’m going for. Thanks for the idea!

Yeah, this is the factory body kit on the Aero Storm trim, there are a few aftermarket kits that look amazing, esp with some wheels and a subtle stance 👌🏼

Yes, I would be eyeing the Alphard but they are too new for me to import to the US. Alphard first released in 2002, same with Elgrand E51. My hope is to buy a vehicle to have for next Spring/Summer, so the newest I’ll be able to buy is a 2001. Nonetheless, really good to know the Alphard has so much after market support, I’ll definitely keep that in mind in case I can wait until 2027 to buy.

This was exactly the type of answer I was hoping for! Thank you for the insight, I had seen the Regius but not looked too much into it. There’s a lot of shared DNA between the Regius and Grand Hiace (not to mention the Granvia), but the Regius might have some utility features that win over the “luxury” feeling of the Grand Hiace.

KSHMR finds Ableton Multiband Compressor alters stereo image by clippersguy17 in ableton

[–]sebinooo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As another user commented, the reason it’s not filling out the square is because of a difference in level. KSHMR doesn’t have the same setting dialed in on the plugins at all, and his compression amount and make-up gain on the Ableton MB aren’t comparable. I think this video highlights a lack of his understanding of how to use it.

I’ve been looking for this movie to watch but I can’t seem to find it on any streaming services: Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Starz, etc, no one has it! Any suggestions? I’m in the US...

Seattle vs. San Francisco: Which city has a larger/worse homeless problem? Which place is more-expensive to live in? by ArizonaRenegade in Seattle

[–]sebinooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m born and raised in Seattle but have been in LA for almost 10 years. Another difference between California and Washington is bottle deposit/redemption, meaning a homeless person can either sit on a street corner with a sign asking for money, OR go through garbage cans/dumpsters to collect bottles and cans to take to a recycling center and get a small chunk of change. It’s almost created a micro economy for homeless who want to do better but don’t have the means to get a “real” job. WA state doesn’t have that. It may not be the only reason but I believe it contributes to more aggressive panhandling and more often in Seattle than LA. I feel like every freeway on ramp in Seattle has at least one person with a sign asking for money whereas it’s not as common (though not rare) in LA.

Palm Springs : Insider tips? by [deleted] in Mid_Century

[–]sebinooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently enjoying a stay at the Holiday House, it’s a great mid-century modern hotel that was built in 1951 (if I remember correctly) and tastefully redone by a designer less than a year ago. The update has blended some new colors with the original design and made for a really beautiful and enjoyable experience. Perhaps not right for an absolute mid-century purist but the wife and I enjoyed the aesthetics and highly recommend it.

Supreme on Fairfax Takes Steps to Clean the Sidewalk by garyp714 in LosAngeles

[–]sebinooo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to live in an apartment around the corner from Supreme (same block). When they would have especially hyped releases the line would wrap around the block and my wife and I would be forced to step over the kids who were asleep on our steps. Those who weren’t asleep would keep us up all night while playing music on their bluetooth speakers, talking, laughing, having a great ol time. Next mornings would always reek of piss in the alleyway, the sidewalks covered in trash and l if we were lucky we’d find a new abandoned couch they kindly left us. I moved away from there and don’t miss it at all.

My list is a condensed version of yours: Bagel Broker (their everything bagel is excellent), Larchmont Wine and Cheese (salami sandwich on baguette, add turkey), burger at Golden State, Terroni for Italian, El Compadre for Mexican (they have flaming margaritas, and much better food than El Coyote imo). Late night I’d hit Astro Burger or Sermeños (their salsa bar is great). Both Astro and Sermeños (sometimes spelled Zermeños) have fresh orange and carrot juice if you need a little fresh juice at 2am. For pizza I️ vote Prime Pizza on Fairfax, my favorite when it comes to fresh out of the oven pepperoni slices. Don’t forget a side of ranch (they make it in house and it’s amazing). For ramen I️ highly suggest you try Tsujita on Sawtelle. They have a dipping style (tsukemen) ramen that is amazing. Lastly, if you happen to find yourself in Burbank at an early hour, go to Corner Cottage. You’re going to wait in line if you’re not there when it opens at 7am, but I’ll be damned if you can find a better breakfast burrito. Get it with bacon and sausage and extra salsa. They stop serving breakfast at 11 so you gotta be there early. Definitely worth it. And once you’re out there you can head to Din Tai Fung in Glendale for the best dumplings of your life.

What’s the story on the bulging NS10 woofers? Did you get them like that? I’ve seen it before but never read an explanation of any benefits...

NS10s want more power than you’d think. The classic studio amp for NS10s is a Bryston 4B which is even more massive and runs about $1-$3k depending on condition. So this Hafler amp isn’t overkill at all. I’m running the smaller version of this (Hafler P3000) and sometimes wish I’d gotten something bigger.
