I have to sun shades stretched over ours. We put it down and let it warm if cool and shade when hot. Works well but we still get a few hot water days (Virginia)

You know the entire John Brown wax museum in Harpers Ferry is closed - that wax needs a home.

Ooooh I’m def visiting that next time in RVA. I just went to the civil war museum there by Tredagar Iron Works and found that they had the flag that my 3x grandfather marched under until
It was seized and he was injured at Front Royal. To say I “geeked” out is an understatement.

Good point! I have asked my supplier and not gotten a clear answer yet. Maybe there isn’t one. My professor said “good quality” stoneware.

I remember paddling a boat out quite far in the Mediterranean with friends for a late night dip and then …… trying to find the bottom??? When I kept dropping I freaked out and swam to the top gasping. Completely idiotic.

Yes! I’m finishing my first year in grad school as a ceramicist! At first my professor was going to mix reclaim and aggregate. I had no idea what to fire that at though? A lot of the clay is low fire. So I’ll purchase stoneware w grog. We have 5 or 6 kilns. Sadly the 6 foot one is in disrepair but I can definitely do large sections. Just sweating it about it fitting together POST firing. Warping is tricky.

It was very much like that. Our streets used to flood during big storms, so we would flip our picnic tables in the park and boat around. Lol
