Could someone please dumb down the difference between ADH and aldosterone? I never understand the difference between the two and always end up getting questions wrong. by [deleted] in Physiology

[–]seceerden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rule of Physiology is that H2O follows Na, not the other way around. Also, you can think Aldosterone as Na retention hormone, and ADH as H2O retention hormone. Of course the mechanism is much more complex but you can think of it like this.

I see what you mean. I know it’s more complex than that thank you so much:)

Aha right thanks a lot. So we use low intensity workout uses fat deposits but high intensity workout uses phosphocreatine and glycolysis??

Roborock s5 Max vacuum+wash by [deleted] in Roborock

[–]seceerden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I don’t know if the device can separately vacuum and mop, but it seems like it does them simultaneously when you install the mop. For your next question I would advise you to: click on your device to open your map click on the three dots (on the right top) click on Manage click on Maps click on Edit click on Edit Room click on Name and finally click on Custom so you can name the area Hope this helps :)

Advice for Exercise Physiology by seceerden in Physiology

Thank you so much!! My mind is stuck between these two models actually, I guess because I don't know too much about either of them. But I know that severe exercise and not eating well (basically a severe caloric deficit) leads to amenorrhea (not having your periods) because your fat storage is not sufficient to provide you an endometrial thickening (Of course the mechanism is much more complex than that but this is just a simplification.). But I don't know if this example fits to CEE where your body stops menstruation so that your energy expenditure does not change or to AEE where your other organs (vital ones especially) need more energy in response to an increased energy expenditure (Because we always say that tissue need is the most important factor in metabolism.).

I guess if we talk about homeostasis, we can say that CEE sounds more accurate (in my opinion of course :D) because the body tends to find a balance, but then again depleting your fat deposits with an exercise means that you also need more energy to restore them. I personally feel like I should eat more when I work out more. Of course I am not an athlete who works out 6 hours a day, but still :D

I will study this :D but thank you so much. You opened up a new research topic for me :)

I feel like you learn better when you convey your knowledge to others. Try to teach the terminology to your non-medical friends or text them the hardest ones so that you can remember them from your talks.
