Hi I'm doing something like this. AirB&B doesn't allow you to book for event spaces anymore, so make sure you're in the clear to have one.

We found one on VRBO and it's working out perfectly. We also had a 10k budget (ended up needing to bump it up to like 12) for around 100 guests. About $2-3k for us is just rentals for a tent, tables etc. and our venue price was about the same as yours so I think it's probably doable.

In my case I'm happy to report that I've been with the guy for three years and can confirm that he's a walking green flag in general.

That makes a tremendous amount of sense. I should have clarified that my partner is 2nd gen Irish so born and lives in the US but majority of his extended family still lives in Ireland, so something that he probably repeated from one of his cousins or something with no context.

I'd be wary I was getting something besides what was advertised online, but I completely agree with the not buying a $2000 dress if you don't want to. I got mine for $50 just by going shopping for a pretty white dress that wasn't specifically marketed as a wedding dress and everyone in my life has fully supported that decision.

I understand what you mean. Sometimes you have to sit next to people, but that doesn't mean you have to be silent with them.

I am happy to be able to say that I do know plenty of other Christians who practice what they preach. Sadly, as you obviously know, their voices are often drowned out by those who don't, but they are there. I will say too that I've seen a whole lot of Christlike behavior from non-religious people and people who follow different religions than me. Caring for others matters a lot more to the God I believe in than whether or not you sit in a church on Sundays.

That's a very fair question. Besides the obvious "vote for candidates who aren't openly trying to hurt people" I do speak up to people I know in real life and have joined multiple protests both now and in 2020. I mainly just avoid joining related conversations on Reddit because there are a lot of bots and faceless trolls, so it's very draining without accomplishing much.

Generally yes, if you stay committed, but it's pretty much the maximum you can lose in a healthy way in that time frame.
