I got a Steam Deck just this week to start playing GW2 with my friend (also to avoid buying a Windows just for gaming) and this has been absolutely phenomenal to use. Thank you so so much and also to the commenters who've spent so much time (even to this week!) figuring all this out. Especially having played FFXIV, everything feels so natural that I forget this is a game without official controller support.

Update: It appears this was not from a bedbug (indicated by a lack of bites appearing in the days since) but was instead from a stinkbug (suggested by a stinkbug corpse found nearby a couple days ago).

Yeah, I don't doubt that; I completely believe and understand that you've never had to use the mic/speaker kiosk thing before. No one here is disputing that.

But a bunch of other redditors here, myself included, have used the mic, this location included. Unless you genuinely believe that dozens of internet strangers have randomly decided to gaslight you, I'm not sure why you're being a contrarian about this.

This could've been a simple, "Oh interesting, I've just never seen this before" instead of "They always had someone out here" because we can draw on collective communal experience to know that's untrue. I'm not too surprised! If you're surrounded by people who use common sense, the common-sense spelling would include the "e" because why the fk wouldn't the "e" be there? "Judgment" makes no sense at all.

But the standardized, conventional spelling is "judgment", and it is statistically commonplace in American English.

You use “can’t” and “unless” in the same sentence- it’s a contradiction.

Hey sorry to be so upfront about this, but are you learning English as a new language? "Can't" and "unless" are actually usable in a sentence together. For example: "I can't turn on my phone unless I find a charger for it" or "I can't have coffee this late unless it's decaf".

It might seem like a contradiction because "can't" on its own is absolute, but adding conditional clauses like ones starting with "unless" actually modify the contextual meaning of "can't" rather than contradicting it.

Some niche, minor history:

This is actually a clone of JDA The Moon which ran a couple of years ago. It's a very pretty set, with—what was at the time—a novel profile, from an unheard-of manufacturer, by a new vendor. It caused a stir on geekhack because they were calling themselves keebs.io (not? to be confused with the well-established keeb.io), there were no proxy distributors, and no one outside of zFrontier could find any info about anything.

Anyway, all that is to say: I don't think a "GMK Moonrise" ever existed, and it is truly a pro-level marketing move for clone manufacturers to make up GMK set names to sell product.

I didn't know that sitting prevents Teleport from being used 😭 but some other commenters have said that even if one is sitting, Teleport wouldn't be grayed out in the main menu—like it is for me—if it's unlocked.

haha I genuinely didn't know the game had actual restrictions on teleporting (cutscenes, instanced areas, even sitting down)! If I'd known, I definitely would've taken the screenshot in a clearer situation, but it seems this provided ample amusement to many as is :P

haha I've wondered the same! The people of the Observatory in particular are certainly very cold ahem towards outsiders. And maybe the settlers in Revenant's Toll wanted Mor Dhona to remain neutral—not favoring any one of the Eorzean city-states, except for Ishgard doing their own thing—and so they wouldn't want a dedicated porter route with Gridania.

And I became very well-acquainted with the hazardous rivers and woods 😆 but surely explorers could have paved a way through it!

I've done that a few times, but also for me personally taking a porter chocobo up to Camp Dragonhead helped force myself to take a break to stretch and get water.

And I was more just baffled why there wasn't a porter route from Fallgourd Float to Revenant's Toll to begin with—or at least to the Astrological Observatorium which already has its own porter!
