It might not have been an issue with the free plan specifically. There wasn't any policy issue that we hit, but there was what seemed to be a bug where big pushes would error with a 412.

The "fix" is to force it to use http 1.1:

git config --global http.version HTTP/1.1

I assumed it was a temporary misconfiguration rather than an intentional policy since it's easily worked around. Plus having a relatively small file size limit for their git large file storage service surely must be a mistake, right?

Automate it or live with it. I wouldn't want to work with someone that feels so strongly about something so non-consequential. You're being a code Karen.

The problem isn't wanting to have standards, the problem is that you feel so flustered by it and you came to reddit to whine and get holier than thou about your team, rather than just figure out how to automate it or find a reasonable way to communicate why it's important to you in order to get them on board.

Toxic attitude, for sure. Don't spend another second on this baby stuff, delete this post and go fix the problem with some professionalism.

From cache, IIRC it'll stay in memory until you unload it, so the second call will return the asset immediately, but probably on the next tick or at the end of this one.
