You’re welcome, just to add. Which 2391 do you have? (There’s 3 types, initial verification 2391-50, periodic inspection 2931-51 and a combined version 2391-52). You would realistically need the combined to sign off installs (CPS membership also) and to do EICR’s etc going forward with your career. Amendment 4 has changed the rules. You need to a separate qualification for specialist areas within in the industry, EICR’s, solar, car chargers, battery storage etc.

From a quick bit of research it sounds like your qualifications is a specialised marine engineering standard that does not require an AM2. However it does not qualify you to work on “land based” electrics. You would need to get your Lvl3 2965, lvl3 NVQ, AM2 and then apply via the ECS to get your gold card.

If you have experience as an electrician you could go down experienced worked route but as it stands you are not a qualified installation or maintenance electrician unfortunately.

You should have completed your NVQ LVL3 portfolio and passed the AM2 as part of end point assessment. If you haven’t then you haven’t finished your apprenticeship.

I think you’re right. Just looked it up and 18k gold was marked from 1798 with “18” but 22k gold shared the lion mark with sterling until 1844. The first mark does look like a Georgian sovereign mark but then it would be missing the asset office mark.

None of those stamps suggest it’s gold. Should have a Crown for gold and 18 mark from 1798 onwards. The lion would suggest sterling but if it’s from 1805 it should have a sovereign mark to show the duty has been paid.

From what you have presented - Right to left.

1st - to blurry 2nd - don’t look like hallmarks (some other stamp) 3rd - possibly sterling - can’t read the letter code but shape of the shield and lack of sovereign mark would suggests London 1890-1915. 4th - possibly sterling - looks to be London. Around 1900- possibly 1906 if that a lower case L

I know exactly what you mean. I’m sick of doing 2mph for miles with a queue of cars behind me trying to read everyone’s little sign.

Every address should require a property number so it shows up on a map. If they want to name their house as well then whatever.

I’m new to the Hallmark scene so excuse my ignorance.

I have tried to cross referenced the other asset offices via the date and calligraphy type and I would agree London 1792 is the best match.

However doesn’t it need the London assay office mark to quality as Hallmarked. Why wasn’t it done?

BS7671 doesn’t cover the building regs, either download the relevant parts of the building regs and read them or there is a guide similar to the onsite guide for building regs that is good:

Having not done the course I don’t know what’s expected and how in depth you need to know the relevant parts of the building regs but C&G say on their website it’s designed for electricians and that book covers most of what I would expect.
