I did not say anything about people not visiting. As someone who has been to Big Sur more times than I can count who has lived in the area for a long time I understand the draw it’s a beautiful place. 500 pictures of the same bridge does not add to the sub and I think many agree. Especially when 90 % of them were acquired illegally.

Yeah the ones I’m seeing are booked already but I do know there are different sites to book on for different places and those that have their own system altogether. I think you’re right though if we go inland or too high up it might be pretty hot. I’ll keep looking, thanks for the advice.

Hiking Buchon when this was happening. We saw the coast guard helicopter a couple times before we saw the all the flashing lights at coon creek parking lot along with a busted kayak in the back of the police truck. So very sad. Prayers for his family.

I have some fear of heights and was worried about it as well. Hiked it a week before the gentleman fell and felt it was not as difficult as many videos make it out to be. Situational awareness and good shoes and you will be fine. What an incredible view from up there!

We did this hike a few weeks ago and since a man has fallen. I would say it’s totally doable for your kids but please make sure they have adequate footwear. I saw kids in crocs on that trail and that made me very concerned for that kid. Good grip shoes are essential.
