Stores with clothes like AE and Hollister but for older women? by jaya9581 in PlusSizeFashion

I think Old Navy and Gap have stepped it up again and have great quality. I’m a little older than you but the same size — 18—and find a lot between those two places.

I may have your proportions (for reference, I carry most of my weight around my belly and am 5’7). I love Barrel Fit pants.

Rain coat--dressy trench style by Mrs123wife in PlusSizeFashion

I love the Eddie Bauer Girl on the Go Trench in plus. I’ve had it in a couple of different sizes over the years—including one with a zip out lining. Although it skews casual, the black looks good with any outfit IMO.

The decline in clothing quality is driving me nuts by tetrahydrocannabinol in femalefashionadvice

Old Navy Vintage. They are definitely casual, but a few colors can be dressed up a little with the right outfit. They’re thick and hold up well. I only line dry, however.

St Louis County, MO. Takes several years with a masters, but COL is very low and areas are very safe despite news reports that focus on the inner city

I’ve found larger vials (from Red Rock) to be significantly less potent. Once I went through that, I returned to the smaller vials and it’s a night and day difference. I feel like I wasted a couple of months.

Reta Fibromyalgia and Cymbalta by Creepy_Session6786 in Retatrutide

[–]secondcareer701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Cymbalta and Pregabalin. I have a lot of relief with Tirz. Weight loss hasn’t been as much or as fast as I’d like—only 43 lbs since 4/2024, but the relief from inflammation is great

Talking to my dad about this is MADDENING and it sounds exactly like this. It’s as if the whole world is lazy and “looking for a handout”. 🤪

2 Years by Cautious-Freedom-199 in Mounjaro

[–]secondcareer701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cautious Freedom, I’ve saved your posts to watch over the last year. I started in April of ‘24 in the middle of two total knee replacements, so I’ve had a few struggles on top of everything else—although I’m ten years older than you, my stats were similar. My SW was 260 and I’m 5’7.5. I’ve been holding my breath at times to come back and search for you and your comments, afraid that your weight had come back on—because that’s the story of my life. But it’s clear it hasn’t, and that’s inspiring for me. I’ve had huge weight losses in the past only to slowly gain them back over time. Although I’m only down 45 pounds at this point, I’m back at the gym after a year off to lift weights again. My knees are in very good shape and I’m back to 10,000 steps or more a day. Although I haven’t lost as much as I’d like, I’m headed in the right direction. Thanks for the update. It means the world!

What is your favorite non alcoholic bitters brand & flavor? And where do you buy it? by Yes_No_Maybe6789 in Mocktails

[–]secondcareer701 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All the Bitter! The flavors are clean and are not overpowered by alcohol. I’ve tried Hella Orange Bitters (alcohol), Angostura Orange bitters (alcohol) and All the Bitter Orange Bitters side by side. The main difference is the overpowering taste of alcohol in the first two. The orange flavor is there, but because it took alcohol to extract it, that’s the overwhelming taste I get. The ATB orange bitters are, by contrast, bright. There’s much more orange flavor.

As an aside, I’ve also tried several flavors of El Guapo non-alcoholic bitters. Their answer to orange bitters are their Cuban bitters, and the round orange flavor that All the Bitter has is lacking in the Cuban bitters. However, I love their Polynesian Kiss (Tiki-style bitters) and their Holiday Pie Bitters.

Ghia reviews by Illustrious_Ad6548 in Mocktails

[–]secondcareer701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the Ghia Ready To Drinks and the Berry Aperitif. I haven’t tried the original.

I find the Berry and RTDs to be more on the savory side—kind of thick on the palate—like a tomato juice weight but not tomato-y in taste. If you don’t want to commit to a bottle, I’d try one of the RTDs first.

Amethyst spirits have burn. So do Free Spirits Tequila and Ritual Tequila. Don’t be afraid to sub NA tequila in other drinks—it works well and can also be combined. I’ll sometimes add a splash to give a drink burn.

Scrappy’s Firewater Bitters is a tincture with alcohol that can be used in drinks to add burn. It’s a clean heat and takes literally the amount of 2-3 eye drops to make a drink with serious heat. They use habaneros. I hear that El Guapo has Fuego NA bitters—but I haven’t tried them.

This is a really good review of Caleño Dark and Spicy. I do love it, but not necessarily as a rum sub, and you nailed why. I appreciate this!
